I'm on my second one - first one got stolen. I like the larger face and the way it mounts on my hand.

The only "bad" thing I've noticed is it usually reads 500 feet or so lower than everybody else's altimeters at altitude. No biggee, it's always accurate enough when I need it.

Better to believe you're lower than you are than to think you're higher than you are.

I am thinking about buying the Sapphire Altimeter, anyone got it and can offer me advice about what its like??

I personally have found them too frgaile and innacurate for continued use. I use Alti III wrist mounts. They are accurate and bulletproof in my experiance.

They are also expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Have been using one for about a year. Have not noticed a problem with it reading high or low. On ocassion though when trying sit I noticed the needle bouncing quite a bit.

I've had mine for 8 years. It is pretty accurate until around 10 grand and then starts to really flake. I rarely check my alti above 5-6 grand though. I've dropped the thing millions of times and it seems pretty damn sturdy.
