cpoxon 0 #3 September 30, 2003 Nice video. Don't forget you are allowed to smile in freefall! :-P Nicely edited to make it look like a 30 second canopy ride for the cameraman! I could hardly spot the join! :-P

phonics1981 0 #5 September 30, 2003 If your connected to the net when you try and run it, WMP should automatically look for and download needed codecs. ------------------------------------------------------ "Ive given up on sigs cos I make a mess of them!" ------------------------------------------------------
Amazon 7 #6 September 30, 2003 Sweet..... I just jumped there on Thurs... a friend and I were on our way down I-5 to the Byron Boogie.... really nice place...2 of us to 12.5k for $16... and had a guy get out at 6k on the way up.. great view of all the central Oregon Cascades... and all the way out to the Pacific. The two skydiving groups on one DZ right next to each other is......uh well different. The other place was closed.. just Eugene skydivers was open. You have a good DZ to start out at. skydivingdutch 0 #8 September 30, 2003 This actually wasn't an AFF jump, but we did such a launch. I was working on RW, after static line progression Hah,yeah, my instrucotr did that nicely, cutting the canopy ride. Amazon: I actually jump at the other place, course I know ppl from both. It is pretty annoying sometimes with the rivalry (and beyond). I haven't jumped there yet, but I should sometime. http://dropman.com
skydivingdutch 0 #9 September 30, 2003 Oh yeah, the video is a Window Media Player 9 clip. Get WMP9 from windowsupdate. http://dropman.com
Amazon 7 #10 September 30, 2003 I had heard about both and I was kind of hoping to jump both.. same day.. backup loads.... You can tell I LOVE Paperwork....there is only 1 place in OR I have not jumped now...I need to fill out a LOT of paperwork in CA this winter.. WA is easy enough but CA has LOTS of DZ I plan on seeing. Jeanne
Kramer 0 #11 September 30, 2003 Nice jump man. I love watching skydiving videos. I've got probably half of the stuff from skydivingmovies.com on my computer right now. Love it. Thanks for sharing. -Kramer The FAKE KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!
bch7773 0 #12 September 30, 2003 nice video man... at least you don't have your cheeks flopping if you wanna do one with video, just use "Windows Movie Maker". Its a pretty basic (therefore crappy) program, but its free with Windows. I actually made a couple videos of me with it, and for just showing whuffo friends it looks pretty cool. skydivingdutch 0 #13 September 30, 2003 You have no idea how much of a pain it was to get this thing done. I only had the mini DV tape, so I used the computer lab where I work to capture it. Of course with the common misconception that Macs are good/better for anything graphic, the only machine with a DV deck was a Mac. So i have this huge quicktime file (250MB). Final Cut pro was being retarded, so I had to capture with iMovie , then had to use FinalCut Pro to de-interlace and after uploading that now 80MB quicktime to my home computer, I used Cleaner XL to output it Windows Media 9. uhng... Don't think that all happened in one try. Goddamn I need a camera, bypass the stupid Macs at work. http://dropman.com
bch7773 0 #14 October 1, 2003 yeah but now that you have it in a .wmv file, you can directly import it into windows movie maker... it outputs it as a .wmv as well. I would say just give it a shot... its kinda fun to mess around with. MB 3528, RB 1182
skydivingdutch 0 #15 October 1, 2003 I'd rather use a real program like Adobe Premiere. http://dropman.com
mccordia 74 #16 October 1, 2003 Cool video...but is it just mee, or does the guy doing the video look like he's open at a 1000ft or so? He just does 1 turn, and lands....?JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
vonSanta 0 #17 October 1, 2003 Yah was thinking that too mccordia. Musta opened pretty low. Santa Von GrossenArsch I only come in one flavour ohwaitthatcanbemisunderst
Aviatrr 0 #18 October 1, 2003 QuoteYah was thinking that too mccordia. Musta opened pretty low. I thought that at first glance, but if you look closer, you can see that there is a break in the video. In one frame, he just deployed(and is still groaning about a hard opening it seems) and the slider is flapping, the next scene his slider is collapsed and he's about to start his turn to final. I think after deployment he turned it off to save tape, but wanted to catch the landing on video....so he turned it back on for that. Mike
