smokejmprwannab 0 #1 September 26, 2003 does anyone know where the whole tradition of owing beer to the dz started, I mean, besides the fact that most jumpers are raging alcoholics?

ypelchat 0 #4 September 26, 2003 The problem with beer, is not the beer itself... It's when we run out of it. Yves.
dterrick 0 #5 September 26, 2003 We're not alcoholics, we're drunks. Alcoholics go to meetings (sorry, I couldn't resist). I'm guessing it goes back to (and remains) the social aspect of sharing a case o beer and talking about one's milestone experiences with more senior people. I'm sure other substances have been used (particularily in the 60's and early 70's) but how can one publically proclaim the (insert drug of choice here) rule? you'll notice that non-drinkers are allowed and encouraged to substitute flats of non-alky bevvies thus underlying the communicative aspect of the ritual. Personally, I find the stories more entertaining after inebriateion has set in (Einstein's Relativity concept applies, though ... be less drunk than the others for maximum effect ...and drive not!) skycutie 0 #9 September 27, 2003 Haven't you heard that most drinking teams have a skydiving problem? MEN: you can't live with 'em, you can't shoot 'em, but you can act psychotic and keep 'em off balance. HISPA #
reACTed 0 #10 September 27, 2003 Hmmm reminds me of that I really need to write my metaphorical essay where skydivers are heroine addicts and beer is methadon. Maybe a bit stupid but the resemblances are major edit: spelling krek wak wou o_0
