deronde 0 #1 October 17, 2003 Relatively new to the sport (37 jumps...) I started reading up on some areas of the sports. AADs being one of them, and noticing a poll where something 52% replied they didn't use an AAD, I thought this pole might be interesting... It is mandetory to have one in Sweden as of this year for A-C license, I believe jumpers with a D license are still allowed to jump without.

kallend 2,106 #3 October 17, 2003 How will you interpret your poll results when you don't know how many respondents come from any given country? What do you expect to learn from it?... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

pack40 0 #7 October 31, 2003 In Hungary as far as I know if yoy have a Basic Instructor Licence (you need 100 jumps (incl. minimum 50 ram-air and of course some exams)). You can send a form to the Parachuting Commission of the Hungarian Aeronautical Association (it is like the USPA) and request to jump without an AAD. Tonto 1 #8 October 31, 2003 mandatory for students, tandems, but I have not voted as this can't be represented in your poll. tIt's the year of the Pig.
Hooknswoop 19 #9 October 31, 2003 In the U.Ss, AAD's are only mandatory for tandem skydives. The FAA mandates AAD's for tandems, which is the only regulatory agency for skydiving in the U.S. Derek
