SeaKev 0 #1 August 15, 2003 My new Mindwarp decided to leave me when I pulled on my second jump w/ it yesterday. Thankfully found it right next to a cornfield as I was driving/ looking. I was a little disturbed to see the chin strap had slipped out of the buckle. I checked and double checked before boarding and on board the plane. Anybody heard of a similar problem? That's happened to me before, I was doing a backloop and whoooop- there it went! Got it on video, it's very funny. I was relieved when someone brought it in and I could prove that I HAD remembered to buckle it, it had just come unwraveled. ****************************************** The last mosquito that bit me had to book into the Betty Ford Clinic. -Patsy
Pubwoof 0 #3 August 21, 2003 I too am flying a Mindwarp and have concerns about the basic chinstrap. While mine hasn't come off on me (yet), I feel as though I'm constantly tightening it up as it gets looser with any kind of movement (on or off the head). Couldn't help but notice that Bonehead sells the $60 chin-cup option which appears to use a different strap system than the basic one. Before I lose the helmet altogether, I figure I'm probably better off just buying the chin cup unless anyone knows of a way to make the basic strap work as it should. The glass isn't always half-full OR half-empty. Sometimes, the glass is just too damn big.
Kris 0 #4 August 21, 2003 What I did to mine was to sew the chin-strap locked once I got it adjusted to where I wanted it. No slippage whatsoever in 200+ jumps on it.Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
Pubwoof 0 #5 August 22, 2003 I never would've thought of that in a million years myself. Thanks. Of course it would mean that anyone ever wanting to borrow it would also require as large of a head as I have. The glass isn't always half-full OR half-empty. I have heard this "ratcheting" sound when they tighten it up...is that what the Bonehead option is? Yes, I know it is snowing. No, we are not putting the top up. It's mainly used by people who fly video as it helps greatly stabilize the helmet (big plus for keeping an accurate sighting) and cuts down on shakiness in the video.Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
