skyejumper 0 #1 August 4, 2003 I was shocked to hear from one of the skydivers at my DZ that Ian Bellis passed away a few weeks ago. Is this true? I was told that he was hit by a car. Ian was one of my first skydiving instructors, many years ago... and I was shocked to hear that he was gone. I don't believe in speculation, so could someone please tell me what actually happened. If this is true, my sympathies go out to his family and friends.
skymama 37 #2 August 4, 2003 Unfortunately it is true. From what I heard, he was waiting to cross a street with his bike, and some guy came up on the sidewalk in his car and hit him. I think he was actually in front of a hospital too, but they still couldn't save him.
