hubguy 0 #1 August 5, 2003 Hello I would like to know how many jumps did it take you to pass through AFF. I seem to be a slow learner as i am still with 2 instructors after 6 jumps. (note: I live in Canada and here if you learn well you can go through AFF in 10 jumps which is what makes me wonder how it might vary from person to person.) Tonto 1 #5 August 5, 2003 Chill Man. I'm considered quite a "progresive" AFF I, and I've had 2 students (out of 1200 AFF dives) go upward of 25 jumps. The penny will drop. tIt's the year of the Pig.
vonSanta 0 #6 August 5, 2003 We got 10 levels here - level 8 is hop n pop, 9 is stability test and 10 is tracking test. Still got to do Level 8, but did 1-7 and 9-10 in 8 jumps. Some take longer, but everyone gets there in the end if they have the will for it. Keep at it - it'll all fall into place I'm sure Santa Von GrossenArsch I only come in one flavour ohwaitthatcanbemisunderst
Brokeneagle 0 #7 August 5, 2003 Don' worry about speed of passing levels too much- if this is something you really want, you'll get it, sooner or later. It was worth every single baby step, I must confess-- it's a joy thang-- don't give up!! Faye. Kerozene 0 #10 August 5, 2003 10 jumps for a 10 level course (it is longer here in Bellefeuille, Québec) Almost failed level 4 (3 X uncontrolled 360, but stopped the spin and did a controlled 360 with an "eureka" smile my instructor laughed about). But don't worry, for example, I'm trying the rear salto and I've wasted 4 jumps so far. (I stop my salto to late so I do more than a 360). Cornholio 0 #11 August 5, 2003 It took me 8 jumps to complete 8 levels in two months. However, that really doesn't mean shit - I still can't fly worth a damn after 200+ jumps ! Edit to add: All it really means is that I was relaxed and listened to my instructors and did what I was supposed to do. Relax and you too can complete AFF is the minimum number of levels. gerv 0 #14 August 5, 2003 My AFF course (UK) was a eight level one, I did it in 10. failing level 4 and 5 once each (one instructor). Which bothered me so much that I asked around. from MY experience theses levels seem to be the sticking point. Might be an advantage to get another instructor to look at your videos.
