JeffD 0 #1 July 8, 2003 Ok well after watching some of Good Stuff by J.Jennings I was watching the part where the plane does some Crazy stuff (looked like a split S) so the skydiver would be falling next to the plane in the video. But I was curious if anyone had thought about getting the plane to be at a high rate of climb on exit, so the skydiver would be traveling up on exit then just float for a second until gravity takes over and then it would be like a balloon jump. of course this would only work out of a drop back door aircraft like a skyvan. Like get a load and have the skyvan go vertical, while all the skydivers slide out the back (but they are still traveling up).
dzbum 0 #2 July 8, 2003 Sounds like a great idea!!! Right until the point where the plane starts falling back down again- and your under it! Not to mention the risk of structural damage and possible engine damage. If your pilot/DZO is smart- they will never allow it. Want an e-ticket ride? BASE jump. ChrisIt's good to be the pilot. mccordia 74 #3 July 8, 2003 I think there's a clip in the /exits section of skydivingmovies.com which shows someone exiting a twin-otter of cessna caravan this way... On the website of 'die schurken' there's also some cool (pink) skyvan playing with zero-g flights (a guy doing a backloop INSIDE a skyvan:)JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
