night jumping

Recommended Posts

Really hard in the US to be ANYWHERE that no lights on the ground can be seen. My initial night jump I could orient off the lights of Fayetteville to the east and the 10th Marine Artillery firing 155mm illumination rounds into Ft Bragg impact area (aprox 12 km NNE). Made it real easy to find the DZB|

my second night jump I was on a 138 saphire...exit wieght about 190....pretty uneventful accept when I pulled at 4k I had 3 full line twists...tried and tried to kick out then right as I was about to give up I grabbed my handles and realized that I was kicking the wrong way!....eventually got out of it and was situated at about 3k....landed great (nice swoop in front of some cars in the landing area...with their lights on so we could see)

My first night jump there was no moon at all. It was also one of those "inky black" nights so you couldnt see the ground. There are plenty of lights though. My second was a full moon and it looks almost like day

Here's to the Breezes that blows through the Trezzez.....

My first night jump another jumper on the same load landed curseing. Somebody asked what's wrong and he said "This is my f**king reserve". No way you could find all his stuff in the dark right? Well hi main landed right in front of him and the free bag right beside him. Lucky guy.
