jitsoa33 0 #1 March 28, 2003 have any of you ever gone to altitude in dark, black skies, and cant see the ground on the way down...special ops style? extremely dangerous? yes. have you ever done it? would you ever do it?
AggieDave 6 #2 March 28, 2003 Couldn't see the ground, but the lights were a dead give away. I've only got 5 night jumps, though. Although one of those was one rock solid kick ass hybrid. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
PhreeZone 20 #3 March 28, 2003 Night jumps are required to get your D licence from the USPA. Based on some of your questions lately check out www.uspa.org and it'll answer a lot of questions you have that you can't get answered at a DZ Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
dreamsville 0 #4 March 28, 2003 At some point, it's nice to have something that's a (dead?) give away. |I don't drink during the day, so I don't know what it is about this airline. I keep falling out the door of the plane. Harry, FB #4143
coconutmonkey 0 #5 March 28, 2003 Really hard in the US to be ANYWHERE that no lights on the ground can be seen. My initial night jump I could orient off the lights of Fayetteville to the east and the 10th Marine Artillery firing 155mm illumination rounds into Ft Bragg impact area (aprox 12 km NNE). Made it real easy to find the DZ Hearts & Minds 2 to the Heart- 1 to the Mind- Home of the Coconut Lounge, Spa, & Artillery Range
Yoshi 0 #6 March 28, 2003 my second night jump I was on a 138 saphire...exit wieght about 190....pretty uneventful accept when I pulled at 4k I had 3 full line twists...tried and tried to kick out then right as I was about to give up I grabbed my handles and realized that I was kicking the wrong way!....eventually got out of it and was situated at about 3k....landed great (nice swoop in front of some cars in the landing area...with their lights on so we could see) -yoshi_________________________________________ this space for rent. beavdog 0 #7 March 28, 2003 My first night jump there was no moon at all. It was also one of those "inky black" nights so you couldnt see the ground. There are plenty of lights though. My second was a full moon and it looks almost like day Here's to the Breezes that blows through the Trezzez.....
Shark 0 #8 March 28, 2003 My first was on Friday the 13th, moonless, partly cloudy. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and had a lot of fun. Also nailed the peas on my landing. Close to 24 ytd.

No way you could find all his stuff in the dark right? Well hi main landed right in front of him and the free bag right beside him. Lucky guy.
