stilettodude 0 #27 March 18, 2003 "FREE-BIRD" pops into my head but last week i was forced to listen to New Orleans Lady on the ride up. if you have never heard it "IT'S NOT SKYDIVING MUSIC" Gotta love our pilot TRAVIS lol. Liemberg 0 #28 March 18, 2003 I sleep on the ride up... Under canopy I like to surprise my passengers with my interpretation of "Volare" (only the chorus: "Volare OhO, Cantare OhO OhO !") I think it sounds even better as it does in my bathroom, but that's just me. Anyway - the audience never walks out on me... "Flying high" By Ozzy pops in my head alot in 4 way (and 8 way, and 16 way, etc) there are randoms and blocks, the randoms all have a letter designation, the blocks a number. Paul put together a list of words made up of only the letters used for randoms.... (they are A - Q with the exception of "I").

Biscuit 0 #31 March 18, 2003 When I was first starting the S/L progression I would get REALLy edgy on the ride up. I decided "My Cherie Amour" by Stevie Wonder would be a good SOOTHING song on the way up. It was very effective and a little silly. ****************************************** The last mosquito that bit me had to book into the Betty Ford Clinic. -Patsy
betzilla 56 #32 March 18, 2003 planes at my DZ have sound systems, and loud ones, so there's no use have ing any song in your head other than the one that's playing.
dreamsville 0 #33 March 18, 2003 Musical thoughts on the way to altitude: Mostly classic jazz: Miles Davis, Kenny Barron, Freddy Cole, Roy Hargrove (from a long list), etc. It doesn't sound as if anyone else thinks this way so far. However, lately I don't think much of tunes because now there's a CD player installed in the cockpit and a sound system pumping out music into the cabin. |I don't drink during the day, so I don't know what it is about this airline. I keep falling out the door of the plane. Harry, FB #4143

skydyvr 0 #37 March 18, 2003 Quote Which song goes through your head on the ride to altitude? Just Curious. Mine used to be "Cocaine" by Eric Clapton (when I was on student status) At just 35 jumps, I chat or visualize the dive on the ride up, but when the door opens my mind plays a loud "Yea Baby Yeaaaa" like Austin Powers. I hope the feeling that comes with that never goes away! . . =(_8^(1)
tosca 0 #38 March 18, 2003 I try not to fall asleep. Flying is good for reading books. Or to eat something- fruit, icecream or a sandwich. I really enjoy listen to my friends singing in the airplane. I also practice the jump mentally a few times on the way up. If there is a co-pilot seat, the best thing to do on the way up is of course to practice how to fly the airplane! mikkey 0 #39 March 19, 2003 I was a big fan of Meat Loaf during my first skydiving "career" in the late 70's & early 80's and always had "Bat out of hell" in my mind on the way up. Actually once took a walkman up with the song and played full volume during a high solo.... o.k call me cheesy, but I was young at the time... and I am still silly --------------------------------------------------------- When people look like ants - pull. NoShitThereIWas 0 #42 March 21, 2003 Depends on my mood: Miami and Its All Good -Will Smith Don't Fear the Reaper and Burnin- Blue Oyster Cult When Will We Fall Down- Toad the Wet Sprocket Wastin away again in Margaritaville- Buffett Satellite or any Dave Matthews Band songRoy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."
psuCory 0 #43 March 21, 2003 It totally depends on mood for me... If I'm in a very relaxed mood, and going to do a relaxed jump, it's usually Dave Matthews. If however I'm in a more aggressive mood (which occurs more often) I get Drowning Pool - Bodies stuck in my head.
