indyz 1 #2 January 9, 2003 I hate you.I can afford to jump 15-20 times a month. I usually don't make that goal, with school and Illinois weather getting in the way. So really, I go to the dropzone whenever I have time, which ends up being 10 jumps or so a month when the weather is decent. Far, far, less in the winter. In 16 months of jumping, including student status and an entire summer spent saving for gear, I'm averaging about 4/month.
Skypilot 0 #3 January 9, 2003 About 600 of those have been work jumps so I guess I am lucky there! Go big!

Tonto 1 #5 January 9, 2003 Lucky guy! Shows many things. You have good health, good weather and good attitude! I have a job Monday to Friday, but managed 384 dives last year, and that included taking a month out to climb Kilimanjaro. I've been averaging 210 dives a year now for 18 years, so that is... 4 dives a weekend, 52 weekends of the year for 18 years? tIt's the year of the Pig. dkearns 0 #7 January 9, 2003 Jack, Good job buddy. I was at Ramblers when you were on day 60 something. Doug
Tonto 1 #8 January 9, 2003 Ramblers? Tagoolawah? I was there in 94 for the post equinox boogie! Was at the world meet in CF at Kooralbyn, and then the rest of my team went off to see the Great Barrier Reef... but I'm a skydiver so I went skydiving. Did some coolish 30 - 40 ways, with some wild people and a blunt axe... but enjoyed hugely - except the flies.. tIt's the year of the Pig.

mccordia 74 #10 January 9, 2003 Made roughly 3 jumps per month the first 1,5 years I started jumping. Since I got my A and my own rig (2 months ago) I've made about 60 jumps :)JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
skybytch 273 #11 January 9, 2003 I've averaged 5.8 jumps a month over the last 13 years. That includes over a year off due to injury and a couple of 4-6 month periods when I was too broke, gearless or too pissed off at the local dzo to jump.

dreamsville 0 #14 January 9, 2003 I try to jump just about every weekend of the year, except for the odd whuffo vacation to Nantucket Island, Mass., although I have been emailing people at Lawndart's drop zone about bailing out there as well. This weekend it will be in the 20's and I expect to jump anyway. HarryI don't drink during the day, so I don't know what it is about this airline. I keep falling out the door of the plane. freekflyguy 0 #15 January 9, 2003 Being an instructor I get to jump very day if the weather is good. Last year I managed 300 jumps between April 6th and Nov 13th. Haven't jumped since due to our DZ being closed from Dec 2nd till Feb. Still not bad work if you can get it. BuzzIt's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice. eyeinthesky 0 #16 January 11, 2003 every day!? wow! we are limited to 3 days a week, in the summer, when the weather permits. that'd be so cool to have the option every day though. i guess the small market of divers here in KY only is profitable for part time DZ's though. in the summer, and before i hurt my back, i was doing one jump every clear weekend. when i get off student status soon, and it becomes cheaper, i'll do more. doughey, i was stupid before stupid was cool! hookitt 1 #17 January 11, 2003 In a row? Damn dude.. that's a lot of skydiving with out a break. (no pun intened) I'm your typical Weekend warrior that has actually taken a lot of time off this year to not skydive. I'm thinking that this year....It's ON!My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
flyangel2 2 #18 January 11, 2003 I have found the older I get the easier it is for me to get too cold skydiving in the winter. I've turned to snowboarding and for some reason, I'm not that cold when I'm flying down the slopes. So, from Nov. to March, I'm on the board. I logged 186 jumps in 2002 and that was only jumping from March to Nov. I don't think that's too bad. Besides, I enjoy doing other things besides hanging out at the D.Z all day every weekend. Jimbo 0 #21 January 11, 2003 When the weather is warm I usually make between 10 and 15 jumps a weekend with an occasional 5 or 6 jumps on a Wesnesday as well. When the weather is cold like it is now I don't jump at all. - Jim"Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
