blueshrew 0 #1 December 12, 2002 Does anyone know if you can jump out of a plane with floats instead of wheels? Say a Cessna 206. I guess the door would have to be taken out, would the water get inside the plane on take-off then?
quatorze 1 #2 December 12, 2002 Never done it but I have heard strories around my DZ by a guy who did it, with no jump door. Some thing to do with right rudder and the slip stream... gus 1 #3 December 12, 2002 If you watch "Over the Edge" they jump from a float plane, but I can't remember what type of plane it is. Anyone? GusOutpatientsOnline.com

blueshrew 0 #5 December 12, 2002 Yay, now I'm excited, now I have to convince the plane owner that his baby will come back safe

howardwhite 6 #7 December 12, 2002 QuoteIt was a Beaver. The deHavilland type I've jumped out of a Beaver on floats (Moosehead Lake, ME). Very cool, with both side doors off, so you can have four or so "floaters" standing on each float. Coolest position is forward of the strut. They had a DC-3 on floats there too, but we didn't get to jump it. HW
