cmnorris 0 #1 December 5, 2002 The University of Florida Falling Gators and the FSU Terminoles will be co-hosting this event. There will be a CASA and King Air present ($18 for 14 000 feet). Raft dives, 4-way scrambles, free organizing, and great prizes will be going on. Bird-man will be providing demo suits for people with the appropriate jump numbers. Registration gets you at least two dinners and all the beer that you can drink all weekend long. "You don't have to be a college student, you just have to be able to party like one." RozeAY 0 #2 December 6, 2002 Several of us from Georgia Tech went down last year and had an absolute blast. It was an awesome experience getting to meet and hang out with a bunch of collegiate jumpers. The UF and FSU jumpers are a great crowd. I highly recommend making the trip! lgershen 0 #3 December 9, 2002 I agree with Allison! the Florida collegiate boogie they had last year was a blast! A bunch of us (8) from u. of Maryland drove down there and loved it. Therefore, we are going again this year. this time, we are planning on bring 16 people down. This is definately worth the drive. In addition, you meet numerous other college skydiving students. Also, if you are planning on going and might have some club t-shirts, our club is planning on bringing ours down to trade with any school who wants to trade for ours. cmnorris 0 #5 December 12, 2002 It's going to be held at Skydive Williston which is only about 20 minutes away from the UF campus (north central Florida area). So far, it looks like we should have over 40 college student skydivers there so it should be much fun. We've got a CASA lined up for the event and we are planning on the following: 4-way scrambles, raft dives, free load organizing, prize give-aways, Bird-man demo suits (if you have the appropriate number of jumps), all-college big-ways, $115 tandems, lots and lots and lots of fun with free beer all weekend long to keep the party going. cmnorris 0 #6 December 19, 2002 For all those wanting to perfect their canopy control skills (and who wouldn't want to be perfect under canopy? ): Brian Germain will be giving a canopy control seminar on Saturday (Jan. 18) for all those who are interested. He will also be bringing up some Big Air Sportz demo canopies and will be glad to do some coaching as well.
lgershen 0 #7 December 19, 2002 The boogie just keeps on getting better and better! It should be an all out blast!D-25265
pilotdave 0 #8 December 26, 2002 How do I book a seat in a raft for a raft dive? See ya there, Dave
lgershen 0 #9 December 26, 2002 Dave, I think you have to be skydiving for over 4 years and have just over 50 jumps. Wait, you have just about that much! You got to get out of the plane more. D-25265
pilotdave 0 #10 December 27, 2002 If my rig wasn't 400 miles away with a lazy ass rigger (hi andrew, in case you're reading this), maybe I could get some jumps in before florida. No such luck. Hey Florida people... any chance water training could be arranged there? I want me a B license. Or maybe I'll skip that and wait for the C. I THINK I'll hit 100 jumps before the end of september. Tink1717 2 #11 December 30, 2002 Yep, the DZ down there is full of very cool people and the town is just far enough away that run to the grocery store only take about ten minutes. Also, the place is wide open for camping and stuff. Just don't land in the sewer feilds. Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway... It really pisses him off. -The World Famous Tink. (I never heard of you either!!) AA #2069 ASA#33 POPS#8808 Swooo 1717
councilman24 37 #12 January 7, 2003 Hmmmmm. I was in college 23 years ago. Does that count? Going to be in the area for the Symposium the next week. May have to stop by.I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
cmnorris 0 #13 January 7, 2003 As always: "You don't have to be a college student, you just have to be able to party like one!" .... or at least be able to tolerate other people having fun. We would love to have you (and everyone else) show up for all of the shenanigans.
cmnorris 0 #14 January 15, 2003 With the boogie rapidly approaching (this weekend) I just thought that I would give some updates. 4-way scrambles competition will be held on Sunday and it will consist of two rounds. Which ever team averages the most points wins (simple, huh?) and the top 3 teams will receive trophies with an exclusive design by me (extra incentive). Brian Germain has confirmed that he will be giving his canopy control seminar on Sunday early evening. The rafts will soon be inflated and the hula hoops are ready to go, so we will be having some fun.

cmnorris 0 #17 January 21, 2003 I just wanted to thank all of the clubs (Maryland, Clemson, FSU, Georgia Tech) and everyone else that came out to our boogie for making it such a big success. We definitely had a great time...even in the cold - I must admit that it was a bit nipply. I also wanted to thank TSO-D, Gowear, Alti-2, Mirage, Aero Tech, and Bird-man for sponsoring our event and donating some great prizes. See everyone next year. pilotdave 0 #18 January 21, 2003 Quote I must admit that it was a bit nipply. Yep, guess you'd know pretty well! I'm uploading the video of a certain last-place-team's first round of 4-way scrambles to my site. Not gonna mention who mighta been on that team. I had a great time. Everyone was really great. Maybe you guys will come north sometime and bring some of your warm weather in return for the cold we brought down. See ya, Dave
cmnorris 0 #19 January 21, 2003 Quote I'm uploading the video of a certain last-place-team's first round of 4-way scrambles to my site. It was the second round where we should get a bonus 5 points just for holding onto that exit. Maybe we need a more sympathetic judge next year.
