Yes you heard it right, the new DZ manager of Skydive Houston has pitched in some cash and as of right now we have over $400 to give away to the first three places in the Team Freefly events. Here are the details: 2ND ANNUAL GRAVITY RATS FREEFLY REVOLUTION April 25-27, 2003 In an effort to promote team freeflying, the Gravity Rats Freefly Team is hosting an intermediate competition April 25-27, 2003. The competition will consist of team freeflying, team sitflying, solo expression and swooping events. The entrance fee is $25 per person for the first event then $10 for every event there after. Competitors should be of the intermediate experience level with at least one team member having less than 1000 freefly jumps. Camera flyers will be available as needed (with slots and packing paid by the competitors). REQUIRED TO COMPETE -USPA B License or above -Safe Freefly Skills -Visual Altimeter -Audible Altimeter -Helmet -Freefly Friendly Container -Entrance Fee -Good Attitude TEAM FREEFLYING EVENT -Teams consists of three persons (two flyers; one videographer) -All aspects of human flight are permissible -Two flyers must demonstrate headdown skills during routine -There are no compulsory maneuvers -Competition consists of three free rounds with team submitting best round for judging TEAM SITFLYING EVENT -Team consists of three persons (two sitflyers; one videographer) -Two sitflyers must maintain heads up position throughout routine, including exit -Transitions are permissible so long as sitflyers return to a heads up position after transition completed -There are no compulsory maneuvers -Competition consists of three free rounds with team submitting best round for judging SOLO EXPRESSION -Solo freeflyer exits plane with videographer and performs any aerial maneuver desired -Competition consists of two free rounds with jumper submitting best video for judging -There are no compulsory maneuvers SWOOPING EVENT -Participants who have shown safe and controlled canopy skills may participate -Competition consists of distance with extra points for accuracy -Further details will be discussed the saturday night before the swoop competition BONUS FOOTAGE We fully intend to party and do big ways as soon as the competition is completed. This trio did a GREAT job of organizing this event and the prizes were fantastic! More thanks to the DZ staff (Deb and Phil), Dirty Sally for the live music, Dave Hobbs for all the beer (every weekend), and to Vibe (those dudes are _seriously_cool_) for coming down from Dallas to be part of this great time!
