lauras 0 #1 July 7, 2003 Many thanks to Skydive City for hosting an awesome 4th of July weekend! Lot of jumping, food & beer during the middle of the "off" season thanks to the efforts of the Zhills staff. The turnout for the 4-way meet was fantastic - Drew & Oren did a great job of divvying up everyone into 9 teams quickly and fairly (no ringer teams!), created a fun dive pool and rounded up cool prizes too (50% off Wings certificates, 30% off Tony Suits certificates, 10 free minutes vouchers at SkyVenture, and a stack of tshirts). The video guys were awesome: Tony, Paul, JC, Ron C., Bob C., Igor, Travis and Patrick ran around in circles all day long meeting loads and dubbing. Bob Healy & Steve Johnson provided excellent coaching and judged all the rounds at the end as well. Congratulations to the winning team, Scared Silly Sexy Turtles! Captained by Skydive City's own Alicia Wolfe, AnneMarie Guelli, Heather Buckridge (heatherb), and Carrie Bramlett who had a whopping 60 jumps going into Round 1 and kicked a whole lot of ass! No one on the team had over 600 jumps but they averaged 9.5 with 50 seconds working time. No handicapping either! Next big event at Zhills will be the Turkey Boogie. See you all there! klingeme 1 #2 July 11, 2003 I had fun, and made a complete ass out of myself during the scrambles. I had a world champion on my team and because of me we tied for last place. I told them to write my 800 jumps as 80 for figuring skill level, and proved that was accurate. 750 freefly jumps does not a bellyflier make, but we had a lot of fun and everyone enjoyed the video after the comp of me taking out my teams 4 way SEVERAL times. Thanks, it was fun, Mark Klingelhoefer

Rick 67 #4 July 12, 2003 The Scrambles were a blast, thanks to Drew and Oren. I was amazed at how many showed up on a scorcher of a day to join in the fun. We were very lucky that the weather held out. And they came up with some great prizes. (I don't know why Heather didn't take the coupon for a discounted Wings container).I learned a lot on Sunday. Including some formations I had never heard of. Thanks to Sandy for letting us dirt dive 427 times before each jump.(Which did not always stop the brain lock). Maybe this could be an annual event? See you guys at he Hills. Blue skies Bomb Squad Rick Even if you get as good as us you'll still suck! You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!
