flyhi 24 #26 November 10, 2003 QuoteI came, I participated, and I kicked all of your asses! Unfortunately, my team was once again adversely impacted by the Coriolis effect and gyroscopic precession. Next year is another year, though. Two quick shots of a 2nd place team member and the team captain of the first place team.Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics. skymama 37 #27 November 10, 2003 What do you have to do in a "hog flop" anyway? She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
SkymonkeyONE 4 #28 November 10, 2003 You first build a four-way round, either by launching it or freeflying the exit and building it. You then, all in unison and on command of the captain, perform a backloop and re-form the 4-way round as fast as possible. Time starts when you first break the grips of the first four-way and ends when you get grips complete on the second one. This was the original form of four-way relative work competition in the world. Carolina Sky Sports owner Paul Fayard was on the team that won the first meet, IIRC. This years event also featured a "bomb drop" in which one member of the team had to fly over a painted compass rose at an altitude of NLT 500 feet and drop a paper sack of flower, thus marking their accuracy. Seconds were subtracted from your Hog Flop time for your proximity to the center of the target. Our designated team bomber, Patty, did a fantastic job and garnered us a three second advantage, thus ensuring our victory. We were not sucking in Palatka. mwabd1 0 #29 November 13, 2003 It was really a great weekend and I want to thank everyone for the great tandem. I really had a GREAT time thanks Art and Mike. It was so cool That everyone went with me even if it was just to make sure I got on the plane. It was well worth the 5 and 1/2 years I waited.mwabd1's Wife
flyhi 24 #30 November 13, 2003 Nice things, Nicole. You had us at "Arch". Wanted to add, you can learn more about canopy piloting over two beers on a Sunday morning than by screwing up 50 jumps on your own. Thanks boy.Shit happens.
