clouddancerss 0 #1 July 6, 2003 I have done a tandem jump and am considering the ISP course at Orange, since I live in Arlington, Virginia.Has anybody been through it?
Luna 0 #2 July 6, 2003 The ISP is basically the same at any DZ that uses it, and I went through it at West Point, VA (somewhere you might also consider, not too much farther for you, PM me if you want more info on it). What questions do you have about the ISP in particular? I'm walking a marathon to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Click Here for more information! ostrich 0 #3 July 7, 2003 I went through the ISP at program at Orange and have been on the instructional staff for the last 2 years, so I'm a tad biased . I would be happy to answer any questions you might have about our program. If you enjoyed your tandem, skydiving only gets better from there!
clouddancerss 0 #4 July 8, 2003 Thanks! I would like to know what advantage it has over the regular AFF course.
jceman 1 #5 July 8, 2003 QuoteThanks! I would like to know what advantage it has over the regular AFF course. Ths short answer is that it is the recommended course of instruction according to USPA's Skydivers Information Manual. The other answer is that it is a clearly delineated course of training that takes a skydiving student from first jump all the way through to his or her "A" license. It incorporates increased canopy control instruction among other changes. In the old AFF program, it was left to the student to make progress towards the "A" license once cleared from AFF. Not all DZs use the ISP, though it is recommended that they do so; some still use the 7 level AFF program plus a Level 8 clear and pull. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?
