There is NO justification for charging someone a lower price for their jump ticket just because they are a female.

I completely agree. I wouldn't go somewhere if they charged me more for being female, so I wouldn't go somewhere where they charge me less. (No, I don't go to Ladies' Nights.)

I am sure you could pay more if you feel like it.
Opening a DZ is probably not the easiest thing to do, I am sure they'll appreciate a little support.

I can't believe people have their panties in a wad over this . . . people need to chill.

If you don't like it, don't come. I'll be there a few times this season, and I don't want to listen to people whine about prices being unfair. $14 is still a deal . . . and like nbblood said, it's all about marketing. It's all about the bottom line, and this is one way to get the desired result.

It's their dz they can price how they want but if it was the other way around you can bet your ass the women would be raising holy hell.

I could see if it was a special once in awhile for the women and sometimes for the guys but it does seem kind of unfair to have a whole season of different prices based on gender.

I can almost say without a doubt that if it were the other way around the women would be quite upset even though $14.00 is an excellent price as well.

I'm not saying that if I lived closer that I certainly wouldn't take advantage of it!

LMAO.....that's because the women aren't near as interested in being in a plane full of guys as the guys are interested in being in a plane full of women!! Sounds to me like their marketing is right on!! If we can just lure the women here, the men will come!

What about if they did American citizens one price and non's another, or whites one and non's another......

Just something to think about...

That's what makes me ill. Women yap on about how they want equal treatment. Equal treatment = good. Preferential treatment = better. I want to be treated equally. Don't have other men subsidize my jumps from me. I make good enough money to where I don't need men to subsidize anything for me.

And that's what makes them hypocrites.

I wouldn't care if guys jumped for free... $10 jumps... I'm there!!!! B|

i just went by this place today... wow..it is freakin awsome there.... two swoop ponds. lush green grass off the pond into the front of the hanger. camping areas. a beach..... wow i cant wait to see the sand in there...... hehehehe you have got to see this place. there is a huge hanger. they are building massive rooms on the side of the huge hanger for different misc. things..

dave is in the works of designing 3 different permanent swoop areas for a swoop park. next to the two ponds. there is even a place to chip galfballs over the water to a green on the other side...

there is huge vast camping areas in an awsome setting.... you can party with the best of them or have a calm relaxed campfire campground area.

the property is all private property surrounded by 1000 or more acres of land. ive been to a few drop zones and i have to say this is going to be a resort.... i cant wait to see some of the things that can happen for this place with a little posotive vibe and a few peaple...

they were talking about putting sand around the side of the hanger next to the grass and the swoop pond. there is pleanty of space for peeps to lay out on the beach and get a tan. off in the back corner where the said sand may be it an open area where a volyball court in the cand could easily go... alot of this stuff will take money. and that will come from skydivers support of the d/z.

it looks as if this dropzone could become the southeast skydivers resort. a heavan in itself.... im exited... cant wait to see some peeps out there....

later...

Mark

I like the description of the Farm as a "skydiving resort"...that really captures it best and also distinguishes it from your standard dropzone setting (general aviation airport, lots of concrete and hangars).

With the Farm one is in the midst of nature, lucious green grass, water, cow pastures...very relaxing environment indeed.

I wish Hans, Harvey, Justin, Dave, Greg, etc etc the best of luck. They are putting a lot of time and money into it...and they might just be onto something very different, very new, and very good.

Sure thing my friend!
It's incredible how people instead of being thankful for a new DZ (and a great one after I read your review) with incredible prices are crying and whining about the details...

Skydiving gets very expensive when you are addicted more than a Crackhead to his fix. Specially when your significant other loves the sport as much as you... Take advantage of what it is offered to you instead of complaining all the time

This DZ has caught my attention (in a good way) for sure... We will see you soon to enjoy the environment and prices!

And remember... The CK season opener is in a few weeks. It is one of the best weekends of the year!
Don't miss it!B|

Since I'm one of the people "crying and whining" about the details (although, merely pointing out sexism isn't exactly crying and whining), I feel the need to defend that side.

Reverse the cost of jumps. Make women pay more. See what happens. If it's discrimination one way, then it is discrimination the other way. I'm always against discrimination.

Vallerina:

it happens all the time in skydiving: (i) why do teams get better rates?; (ii) why does staff pays less for jumps; (iii) why can you get a discount if you pre-pay a block of 100 jumps?.

Relax !:) Plus, I am sure that you can always pay $14, if you insist on being one of the guys !:)

So, you are being discriminated against, because you have to pay LESS !!!!!!???????

That's a new one. Very creative...

/M

How is that very creative? That's the definitition of the word.

But doesn't discrimination imply some adverse effect on the individual? Where is the adverse effect on you by having to pay $4 less? (I mean you can always donate it to beer, Sierra Club, or the Democrats).

And no, even at $14 you will not become one of the guys. There are just some distinguishing physical and mental differences between the sexes (thank God for them).

/M

P.S. : Let me suggest that you PM any reply you feel necessary. And that you come out and jump with me (and/or my wife; who never ever complained about $10 jumps).

No, it doesn't imply an adverse effect. The definition stated different treatement, not worse, based on a specific category.

Also, I do not want to become one of the guys. Where did that come from? :D

I do understand your point, and it is a good one.
But, when it comes to skydiving, I think it falls in a different category.

Let me explain...
If I where a whuffo and went to any DZ that told me that, because I am a man, (and a darn good-looking one) :D kidding, I woukd have to PAY EXTRA, I would definitely take my business elsewhere.

I think it is completely different when you are a fun-jumper. These nice people are not trying to make male fun-jumpers pay more... they are giving year long discount tickets and making it even cheaper for women. Putting it in a language that skydiver can relate to... if a case of beer go for $20 and I find a store that sell it for $14, where am I going to buy it?
I don't care if ladies pay even cheaper because I know I,m getting an awesome deal!

This is a message for the ladies out there who think this is sexual discrimination rather than very cheap skydives...
For every jump you make, give a male fun-jumper $2 and make it even.

This one is for the cry-babies (guys)...
Find a better DZ with better prices or Shut Up!
