SkyGrrl 0 #1 May 7, 2004 Several years ago, I attended a boogie at Lodi in honor of the fabulous Kathy Dause. I had a GREAT time. I thought it was an annual thing occurring on Memorial Day weekend, but I see nothing about one coming up. Is it happening? If so, how can I find out more? If not, will there be cool happennings at Lodi that weekend?
Deuce 1 #2 May 8, 2004 Kathy and Bill have split up. I imagine they will probably still have the Kathy boogie. I hope so. She's a sweetie and is well loved by the skydiver community.

skr 1 #5 May 8, 2004 > Kathy and Bill have split up. Aaaaeeeee!! Another cornerstone of stability in my world has crumbled ... If I ever hear that Bill has stopped jumping I'm going to get really scared. Why I knew the young lad when he had only 5,000 jumps. The world is getting weird out. It was like standing in line at Disneyland. Damn it was busy, still fun though. Jeff
StearmanR985 0 #8 May 10, 2004 Hey Ed, Have you heard if there is going to be an "official" boogie that weekend? I know about the big party for Saturday night and I know there are lots of peeps planning on jumping that weekend too. Just wondering about the boogie thing 'cause I haven't really seen or heard anything. Jeff
SkyGrrl 0 #9 May 10, 2004 Aw... that's too bad about Bill & Kathy. But I imagine that Lodi still rocks – especially with your description! Thanks for the info. I'll see you all in a few weeks! PS> I know there will be partying in the DC, but does it still fly??

I questioned Bill about this and he said that he is just having it "maintained" so it 'could' fly but not that it would fly. That is about all I got out of him. headoverheels 333 #11 May 10, 2004 From what I understand, the DC3 just doesn't compete with the operating expense per jumper of a Twin Otter or similar aircraft. Jumpers also prefer the quicker ride to altitude in the turbine aircraft.
jdobleman 0 #12 May 11, 2004 Scratch, You ought to come play with us at Lost Prairie. It's weird there too, but fun, skydiver weird. It would be great to see you again. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.
