crozby 0 #1 May 14, 2004 My friend and I are planning to be over in the States in June for a weeks skydiving and wind tunnel camp. It looks like our choice of destinations is Deland & Perris - both look like great DZs and both have wind tunnels. Which would you choose based on the weather in June? skyyhi 0 #2 May 14, 2004 Perris's wind tunnel is on-site at the DZ. About 100 steps from the boarding area. This makes it the most convenient wind tunnel available. That being said, I am sure that Deland is a great DZ also, though I have never been there. That is a difficult choice. . .________________________________________ Take risks not to escape life… but to prevent life from escaping. ~ A bumper sticker at the DZ FGF #6 Darcy
MarkM 0 #3 May 14, 2004 Weather-wise you'd probably be best off at Perris in the summer and Deland in the winter months.
diablopilot 2 #4 May 14, 2004 The Tunnel in Orlando is a little ways from the DZ. I hear Deland is a fun place, the nightlife is wild sometimes, and there are a bunch of great Manufacturers to visit. That said. Perris is the place to be! It rocks here. And it's hugely busy lately! Not uncomon to see a weekend with 3 or 4 aircraft flying all day! Wind tunnel, Pro Shop, Bar, and resturaunt. 2 Bunkhouses, and only 45minutes to an hour from a couple of very nice beaches if you're into that sort of thing. 20 minutes from Elsinore as well. Did I mention one of the nicest swoop ponds EVER?---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
