SkymonkeyONE 4 #2 May 17, 2004 I don't believe it's open anymore, but Arizona Airplay used to operate off of the dirt strip at Sommerset Airport. I believe the closest option is just over the border in Cal City.
popeyefireman 0 #3 May 20, 2004 I believe they went Tits up ( shut down) I think it is because they crashed the only cessna they had. O well, come on over to Skaydive Arizona, most don't bit, and they ones that do don't bit hard. "I Yam what I Yam" I am not afriad to die, only to die without living. Nutz 0 #5 July 8, 2010 Snowbirds like to skydive? I have been to Yuma and I could not imagine jumping when it is 120 in the shade. I remember in the summer it used to cool off to 95 at night. But its a dry heat. One time it rained a half inch, there was a flash flood and people were wrecking their cars eveywhere and driving into flooded washes, what a mess. Then there are the rattlesnakes and scorpions and watch out for that saguaro! "Don't! Get! Eliminated!"
jimradzik 0 #6 February 17, 2014 Took a couple years but SkyDive Yuma is open! Weekends and appointment for now, and it looks like it will shut down for a bit in the summer.... but it's rockin! C182 - 11k if the ATC are in a good mood. Check out skydive Yuma on FB
