Chiquita 14 #2 May 20, 2004 B.Moore, I will tell about the 3 dzs that I know the most about in Georgia. The closest dropzone would definitely be Skydive Atlanta. Which is located in Thomaston about 64 miles north of Warner Robins. They are also having their anniversary the first weekend that you will be in town. They also have the fastest jump plane in GA and possibly the country, about 7-7 1/2 minutes to altitude, plus airconditioning and music. It is a real nice dz I used to jump there all the time. The next closest would probably be Skydive Monore, where I usually jump, which is about 100 mile north of Warner Robin. Slightly smaller then Skydive Atlanta, but still a nice dz with a real good vibe. Both Skydive Atlanta and Skydive Monore j fly King Airs, but the one in Thomaston is much faster. There is also Skydive the Farm, which is the newest dz in GA. They are in Cedartown (not to be confused with the other dz in Cedartown) which is about 175 mile north to northwest of Warner Robins. It is a beautiful dz with 55 private acres and 2 natural ponds usually used for swooping. They are also the cheapest jump tickets wise, $14 for men and $10 for women (a special they are doing for their opening season). if you don't mind driving about 3 hours it is worth the drive. I have been there twice so far and love it. They usually jump a Caravan. The only disadvantage is you have to take a bus to the airport at the moment. chutingstar 1 #3 May 20, 2004 We would welcome you to Atlanta Skydiving Center in Cedartown, GA. We fly a Super Otter 7 days a week. Lots of belly-fliers, freeflyers and swoopers...and great facilities...bunkhouse, showers, etc. During the time you'll be in GA, we will be having $17 jumps out of the Super Otter on June 6th, and then $12.50 jumps out of the Super Otter on June 12 and 13 (14,000 feet). Mirage Systems will be out on June 12/13 showing off its harness/containers while Atlanta Skydiving Center will provide free demo/rental containers. Come check us out......see the web link below. bmoore21184 0 #5 May 20, 2004 So you are saying I have to choose a dropzone, that has real cheap tickets, a real fast-ass plane, or an otter, OR a combination of two or more??? Damnit, this is going to be tough. Thanks everyone for the info. There is not a shortage of dropzones that is for sure.
