I need information about Jonathan 150 canopy!!!

Recommended Posts

The Jonathan was one of the early elliptical designs. If I'm not mistaken, they were on the market a year or two at least before the Stiletto. They were made by Air Time back when they still made canopies, and as such, were subject to their poor quality control. As with the Jedies, some are good, some not so good. Unlike the Jedie, they are not airlocked. I'm almost positive Brian Germain had nothing to do with the design of these canopies. In the same era, Airtime was selling a square canopy called the Tomcat.

I've had a couple buddies that jumped Jonathan 136's. General impression is that they are a Stiletto like canopy in most regards, other than the openings, which tend to be a little brisker to down right hard. Flare might be a little mushier too.

That's all I've got.

Oh yeah one last thing, it's not a godd canopy for someone with 30 jumps!!

My jonathon opened slowly and comfortable. It flew nothing like a stiletto. It was very doscile in comparison to a stiletto of the same size. I agree with the mushy flare statement. The front riser response was poor. Apparently it wasn't designed for front riser landing approaches. Try as I might to collapse it using the front risers, it just would'nt happen.

Basically it's an ok parachute. Nothing special.

Excuse me.....I need information about Jonathan 150 canopy!!! Please contact me by e-mail clevanta@yandex.ru. Thank.

I currently jump a Jonathon 150 at 1.3 to 1 and have about 100 jumps on it. here is my experience..

turns are extremely snappy, it likes to overturn tho.. can get zero g very easily.

landing, I am getting pretty decent swoops with 90s.. thats what this canopy is for me.. something to learn to swoop on.

But, straight in it is very easy to land, can always stand it up, nice and soft.

front riser response is a little unpredictable, sometimes it just doesn't perform the way I would like it..

the openings are consistent as far as hardness, haven't had a slammer yet like I have on my PD 170 before it. Pay attention to slider and you'll be fine (get it all the way forward)

You have to steer it during opening to keep it on heading tho.

Overall, I like the canopy, it has made a great 1st ellipitcal for me. and I got it DIRT cheap.

Blue Ones !
