Of course his leased aircraft is still flying, but his own home DZ customers and school are out of luck. It really hurts us (the school) to be closed that weekend. But with every situation we are trying to look on the bright side. We were looking to go to Skydive Coastal Carolina as DaGimp posted. However, I just learned that Southport has a huge 4th of July festival that attracts thousands. As a result all the motels/hotels are booked or at least $150 a night. Plus with so many others traveling to the same spot - it makes restaurants and driving less enjoyable. So---- we are looking into other alternatives. I'll keep you posted where we end up!! Portia, I am so very sad that this happened as I was really, really looking forward to flying with you all. I even did my first 14 & 16-ways last weekend. A friend told me to go, anyway, but it is so depressing to watch others jump when you can't. Jake...sigh. Well, have fun anyway, sweetie. Take some beautiful pics.
