Tandem ratings and flight physicals??

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if, and if, how often a tandem master is supposed to update their FAA Flight Physical? I know you have to get it for the rating, but I don't see any expiration date anywhere or anything. I've never heard anyone around the DZ talk about getting it renewed or anything....

What gives?

You ahve to have a current Flight Physical (Or HALO Physical from the military).

They expire in 3 years. And if you have any changes in your status...they are invalid.

Thats the short story....I don't want to get into the long one.

Flight physicals have their own expiration dates. A class 3 physical has either a 3 or 2 year term depending up the age of the person it was issued to. See the back of the form!

An up to date physical certificate is required for ratings renewals.
