bkdice 0 #3 July 12, 2004 I was there - but for fun - not participating in the big way stuff. Check with Flyangel2 about that. She was there and seemed to be having a ball! Aside from a plane set back on Saturday, things seemed to be quite successful.
flyangel2 2 #4 July 12, 2004 Sweetie! We missed you. Great dives, but can't remember everything that happened. Way too many shots flowing in the evenings. I'm sure John will post and fill us in as to what dives got what points. As always Roger came up with some dives that challenged us all.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey
NeedToJump 0 #5 July 12, 2004 Our team was there doing 4-way training this past weekend so I didn't do any of the big ways, but I heard that there were two complete 101 ways and a complete 102 way. On Saturday there was some smaller (50ish I think) ways goign on because the CASA broke down. I'm not sure how the big way sequencial went but the planned formations looked pretty impressive on paper. It was also fun to swoop the big way as they were dirt diving in the landing area Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
kallend 2,034 #6 July 12, 2004 Well, the big disappointment was that Rumble-Bee wasn't there. There were plane problems Thurs, so we broke into 2 groups, led by Roger and Kate Cooper. I was in Kate's group which totally rocked, and we did 4 consecutive 3-point 50-some ways. Friday we did 5 jumps, the last three were completed 10X ways where X=1, 2 and 3. We transitioned two of them but there were some broken grips on the 2nd point. Sat we did a different jump which was apparently more challenging, 'cos we didn't complete first point in 3 attempts (mostly people going low). Then the CASA broke so it was a 50+ way for the last jump - our group did 2 points. Then we had a great party at Roger and Mary's place. Sunday we had more plane trouble early and did 50+ ways again. Our group had 53, and the jump was a very pretty room dive with a 2-way compressed in the rooms (3 points completed). Finally we tried a 106 way (a different jump again), 2 attempts with first point completions and transitions, but there was a broken (2nd point) grip on the first attempt, and two people fell out of the second attempt during the transition. So I logged 5 100+ way completions, and 6 multi-point 50+ ways out of 16 jumps.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. Vertifly 0 #7 July 12, 2004 I was there as usual - just on the watch though. It seemed like they were getting some good formations completed. They were running to full altitude most of the weekend. Thanks also to John K. for his post on the dive stats that helped me fill in some missing logbook info.
