altichick 1 #26 August 11, 2004 As far as I know the DZ can't supply you with the invitation. Most people used a visa invitation company (I used Intelservice.com there are several companies that you can use Russianvisas.org also offer a similar service). With IntelService you fill in the details online, pay on-line and they email you a pdf copy of the invitation in 24-48 hours. You then need to send that, plus a copy of a form (available http://www.russianvisas.org/forms/form95.pdf) and (in the UK) your passport.... The youth hostel in St Petersburg and some hotels can also issue invitations if you book accomodation with them. Will PM you phone numbers. Have fun! padraigbrowne 0 #27 August 11, 2004 we got our paper work from http://www.go-russia.com/ visa@go-russia.com they faxed back invitation and voucher same day + instructions for filling in visa application form ( $20 each ). seems bureaucratic and complicated but once you have paperwork its no prob as for DZ try them again ! sometimes they answer immediately ,more times emails seem to get lost in cyberspace

falxori 0 #29 August 22, 2004 just came back from there after amazing 10 days. great DZ, cool people and planes. i'll write a longer description when my fever goes down as for the visa, none of us (30 people) registered it anywhere and no one asked any questions. the only problem was when 4 of my friends were stopped by a police officer in moscow (not in kolomna). 1000 rubles (~$30) and they were allowed to continue. judging by the fact that police cars often used as taxis, i doubt the money went to the greater good of russia the DZ itself is great and beside one incident where the bus we've ordered back to the airport didnt show up on time (we still need to call them about that), they were very helpful and made our stay there one to remember. definitely a place to go to O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
