Jethers203 0 #1 July 28, 2004 Will there be BIRDMAN coaches and rentals at the WFFC??? I would like to try some birdman jumps and I was just wondering what would be available at the WFFC. If it is available, who do I talk to and what does it cost? Thanks for all the info. Clint
GroundZero 0 #2 July 28, 2004 Yes Birdman will be heavily represented at Rantoul... but don't do it... worse than CRACK... nylon crack it is... Just say no! (or try it once, it'll be okay.... sure it will...) Chris
LouDiamond 1 #3 July 28, 2004 Quotewho do I talk to and what does it cost? Stop by the Birdman tent(co located with Wings) on Front street, accross from the main landing area , and see myself(Scott) or Chuck and we can hook you up. Minimum requirements are 500 current jumps, BOC and a docile canopy. Cost is $60 plus 2 slots. Suit rental, ground training, in air coaching and debrief are covered in the cost and 1 slot covers the instructor the other is your slot. Ground training takes approx 20-30 minutes then it's onto an aircraft."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
PhreeZone 20 #4 July 28, 2004 Matter also has their wingsuits there and JP will be the man to talk to about them. Birdman was charging $10 rental per jump after the 1st one last year as an FYI.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
sunshine 2 #5 July 28, 2004 QuoteMatter also has their wingsuits there and JP will be the man to talk to about them. According to Revjim's post in bonfire, JP is doing the instruction for free. If thats the case, can people get the ground school from JP and jump a matter suit, then go do birdman suits just for the suit rental and save the $60 plus slot? ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I would say probably not Sunnyone...Different system that the coaches are going to want to check you out on prior to giving you the keys.----- ~~~Michael
SkymonkeyONE 4 #7 July 28, 2004 No, Michael is correct......to a degree. I am not going to require anyone to fly with a BMI if they have already lived through a first flight on ANY other suit. Our suits are different enough from one another that the ground course on our suit will still be a prerequisite, as will the ten dollar per jump suit rental. That said, the ground course will likely only be $20 this year (ten less than last year). Chuck Blue BMCI
diablopilot 2 #8 July 28, 2004 QuoteAccording to Revjim's post in bonfire, JP is doing the instruction for free. Whoa.... the things I get signed up for when I'm not looking! To be honest I hadn't decided what I would be charging for the event. It will definately include 2 slots, and a suit rental fee.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. Jethers203 0 #13 July 28, 2004 So, I am looking at $100.00 the first jump with an instructor, class, rental, and 2 slots??? After the first jump, do I need to jump with an instructor??? If I don't need an instructor after the first jump, would the price only be $30.00 per jump ($10 for suit rental and $20 for my slot)??? Thanks for the information. Clint
LouDiamond 1 #14 July 28, 2004 QuoteAfter the first jump, do I need to jump with an instructor??? No. If your not a menace to yourself or others you are free to fly on your own. After that you may rent a suit for $10 per jump. Don't forget you are also getting in air coaching and a debrief after the flight."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
