flyangel2 2 #27 September 21, 2004 Now Clint, I can't remember, but I was in Perris last weekend, and that's where I heard the rumor. Like they have all said, doesn't matter, what plane is there, it's going to be a great boogie.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey
clint 1 #28 September 21, 2004 I know the otter is a much better airplane but it shouldn't matter what plane we have, it's about the people and having fun. and the jump into Red Cliffs Lodge!!Clint MacBeth Skydive Moab 435 259 JUMP M.O.A.B. Hoping to leave on Thursday night so should arrive sometime Friday... if all goes to plan!Looking forward to finally hitting the tequila with you! jose 0 #33 September 24, 2004 I will be flying in on Thursday at noon. I havent figured out my transportation to Moab, but I can either rent a car or take the shuttle. I'll be drunk and at the DZ at 6 if I have to take the shuttle. 4pm if I rent a car. See ya there Salamander.

jose 0 #36 September 28, 2004 I am coming in to SLC at noon as well. Lets all get a ride and caravan. Clint, is there a place for rental dropoffs in Moab? Edit: Oops, I read SLC, not Denver. Oh well, TJ can still hook up with me and anyone else that needs a ride from SLC on Thursday at noon. If we all chip in a couple bucks...we can save some cash and beat the crap out of a rental car to boot!
clint 1 #37 September 28, 2004 Thrifty rent a car is in Moab. I can try and find out tomorrow. I will ask them .Clint MacBeth Skydive Moab 435 259 JUMP M.O.A.B. Mother Of All Boogies Sept 19 - 23, 2012
jose 0 #38 September 28, 2004 Clint, I called every rental car company in the book, and none offer one way rentals. In fact most don't even have a office in Moab. Unless we, (jumpers that is) can get together and all pay a portion of a 3-4 day rental, its the shuttle. Brad
freefli 2 #39 September 29, 2004 Try pulling that thumb out of your ass and hitching a ride from one of those freak latter day saints. you couldn't ask for a safer state to thumb it in. the worst that will happen is a couple of women pick you up and ask you to be the husband of both of them. you're on your own, deal with it. or did mom tell you to call the big brother to fix things??? jose 0 #40 September 29, 2004 Quote or did mom tell you to call the big brother to fix things??? Certainly you must be kidding, you couldn't fix a hangnail. Whaaaaaaaaa........... I was forced to get a rental, and I WILL make this one go faster with surgical tubing and whipped cream canisters. Definitely going to utilize the automatic insurance that my credit card gives me.....
SwoopnHuck 0 #41 October 4, 2004 I'm wondering if Clint (when he has the time) will write up something about his boogie. I wasn't jumping at the boogie as much as I originally would have liked to have been (I only made 2 jumps). But what can I say, the cliffs of Moab were calling me to come out and play. There appeared to be a tons of people at the Moab boogie, so I was just curious as to how Clint felt his event went? Do we need to start making plans for next year? It's a parachute, it wants to open!!!

jose 0 #43 October 5, 2004 Damn, a whole shiteload of people showed up for this one. The Otter got stuck at Longmont for 1/2 a day, so AZ's king air showed up. There were so many jumpers on Sat that we used both planes. Sure glad I has insurance on the rental....fuckin freefli....
clint 1 #44 October 23, 2004 The MOAB Boogie was a complete sucess in every way! Most importantly, no one got hurt! One tent got taken out but his USPA membership is paying for that one! We did 52 Otter/King Air loads and over 1000 slots for the 3 days. When we 1st decided to have the boogie we expected to have 40-50 people. By the time the pre-registration was over we had 65. So when Friday came around, I was doing the registration in the morning and most of the 40 people were not pre-registered. At the end, we had over 140 skydives registered! We do have plans for next year! IT will be bigger and better! We want at least 350 people for next year. Not sure of the dates yet but it will be around the same time as this year. We are planning on having "THE EVENT" soon. Keep checking our website for updates! You don't want to miss this one! Any comments about the MOAB Boogie would be great. What can we do better for next year? Check out Parachutists for the story by Shonda Smith. The MOAB Boogie Video will be ready soon. Again check out the website for updates. The video will be only $10 Send us and email or call with your order! Thanks again to all! -Clint MacBeth Skydive Moab 435 259 JUMP M.O.A.B. jose 0 #45 October 23, 2004 QuoteAny comments about the MOAB Boogie would be great. What can we do better for next year?Quote Hey Clint. I would love to see daily, or at least more than one load to the Red Cliffs Lodge. However that needs to be worked out.....would be awesome. Being the first boogie, and not expecting so many jumpers the staff got overwhelmed quite quickly. Assuming that there will be more next year, your gonna need more manpower for activities such as gear checks, tix purchases, bonfire organizing ect. Redeye can only do so much...and hes Redeye after all.. It would be cool to have an organized after event at the Moab Brewery....I can just see all of us taking over the whole place....how cool would that be. And have a big screen with vids on it just like on Sat night at the fire. Swoop course/landing area for experienced jumpers only, ie 500+ jumps or such. There were a couple close calls with old schoolers that didnt give 2 shits about the landing pattern, and almost took my bro and I out because he wanted to land into the wind. Swoop and chug. Space ball races. 1 more organizer. Of course, if none of these happened, I would still be there next year! I had a blast, so please people, don't think it wasn't kick ass. The first year is always an experiment, and this was definetly a sucess. Thanks Clint, Shelly, TJ and Mom.
 clint 1 #46 October 25, 2004 I would love to jump into RCL daily! I Would love to jump anywhere if I had the money. The deal is, you can jump from a plane and land on BLM if it's for private use. If it is for commercial, then they want insurance. Lots and lots of $$$, that we don't have yet. When we get that insurance then it's on! We'll be jumping anywhere we want! Maybe get everyone to pay $20 each for insurance and then we can all jump in. That could be an option. Your right about having more manpower. WAY more next year!!! That's an understatement. We will have better landing patterns next year. Just no one to inforce it, again not enough staff. Swoop and chug. Space ball races. 2 more organizers, Yes, yes, yes. It'll be so much bigger and better in the years to come! -Clint MacBeth Skydive Moab 435 259 JUMP M.O.A.B. What we need is more packing area and more fire wood. The party was great every night. You had 1st class beverages at night and the mixture of BASE and skydiving was awesome... Jay's music mix was a little mellow for a boogie with so much energy but that is easily remedied. I would bitch about not being able to jump into RCL, but I got to go on that load...oh lucky me. I will gladly give my slot up next year to allow someone else the pleasure. I can't wait to go flick'n off some of the rocks out there. Hopefully I'll be ready for that next year. You, and Brian, and RedEye, and Jay, and TJ, and the "PD Dude" Isaiha and all the sponsors put on one hell of a show...Keep up the good work. I'm ready to take a week off, load up the jeep, and spend a full week partying with you next year.
 flyangel2 2 #48 October 28, 2004 Clint, I enjoyed myself at the Boogie and for hosting a boogie for the first time, I think you all did a great job. I don't think you all expected that many jumpers to show. I'd like to offer some input. Have registration and ticket sales set up closer to the larger hangar if that's where you'll be set up next year. Having to run back and forth for tickets was a pain. Allow refunds of tickets. That's why ticket sales was a pain, the running back and forth, since I and most of the people I was jumping with were only buying a few tickets at a time. I understand it's a hassle to do refunds, and Brian said that we could use the tickets in Eloy, but what boogie doesn't offer refunds on unused tickets? More trailers for rides back from the landing area. Most of us would just walk back, cause we didn't want to wait for the Tandem's to land. More room in the hangar, maybe sweet talk the people that had planes in there, to move them out for the weekend. Thanks again for all the hard work, I look forward to attending next year.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.
