mhartboca 0 #1 September 28, 2004 (man, does that title work on many levels...) hey.. boogie virgin here... new A license, 35 jumps.. here's the situation: i'm a pretty nice guy. i can hold my own in most conversations. i don't usually drool for no reason. my arrest record is clean (does that disqualify me?). only problem is two fold: 1) i'm not good at breaking the ice in social situations. 2) i don't like doing adventures to new places alone - i always feel like an interloper. so.. i'm looking for a sociable soul who would be interested in sharing expenses, time and fun going to boogies and occasionally just to visit a new dz on a semi-regular basis. either sex is okay - prefer female company, but not looking for, um, that. i just get along better with 'em. but okay, guys are fine too. my main concern would be that they be easy going, social, party types, and willing to rough it a little. by rough it i mean packing area camping, although i could see eventually getting a tent or something. local cheap hotels work too. btw, i'm in memphis and WTS is my dz. by local, i mean anything within about 8-10 hours drive time from here. that covers a -lot- of territory... roughly the circle from chicago to oklahoma city to dallas to the gulf coast to tallahassee to raleigh to columbus - probably 40 dz's? that oughta keep us busy and broke for a long time.... anyone game? also looking for a buddy? know anyone? michaelMichael Hart

blueskyserenity 0 #3 September 28, 2004 If you're in memphis check out roamingdz.com It's basically exactly what you've mentioned. A group of wondering souls from GA, FL, TN, SC, AL & wherever the hell else people want to come play from, some orphans, and many nomads who like to boogie hop and travel to new dz's. I've found that I really enjoy traveling a few weekends a month. New people, new places, new fun! Good luck!!I like coconuts. You can break them open and they smell like ladies lying in the sun! chaoskitty 0 #7 September 28, 2004 I go to lots of boogies and I'll let you know when and where I'm going. Sometimes its hard to travel with someone cause my schedule is all wacky, but I'll be happy to introduce you to people and jump with you when you get there! This month, I'm planning on the RoamingDZ Mountain Boogie in Blairsville, GA Oct 16-17. Skydive The Farm $110 all you can jump boogie Oct 23-24. www.skydivethefarm.com Halloween Boogie in Thomaston, but youre going to WTS.. which will be a good boogie too! Once you get to a boogie, you're never alone. Especially if you participate in the thread about the boogie and let people know youre coming. I was kinda shy when I started jumping too.. but I got over it and just started visiting dz's. Hey..I went to WTS a couple of weeks ago by myself right? Did I jump by myself? nope. Well.. wait I did once but that was because I manifested at the last minute. Hey, we've got the Caravan in Tullahoma again this weekend!

Chiquita 14 #11 September 29, 2004 I ditto Bluesky's thoughts. We pretty much boogie hop as much as possible. We are always willing to let newbies join us too. Next month most of us from roamingdz.com are going to the HArvest Moon Boogie in Blue Sky Adventures in SC Oct 8th-10th, then Blairsville, GA the next weekend for the Mountain Boogie, then Skydive the Farm the following weekend for their monthly $110 all you can jump, and then Thomaston for their Halloween Boogie. So, if you want to caravan with us to Harvest Moon, let either Bluesky or myself know and I am sure we can work something out. You just missed going to Tallahassee 2 weekends ago for their annivesary boogie. We had a pretty good time. Skydive the Farm has a pretty good group of people and a fair amount of people that travel to different dzs. But, I think that you will find for the most part people are very friendly at dzs and it will not take long to fit in at most of them. mhartboca 0 #12 September 29, 2004 Quote... then Skydive the Farm the following weekend for their monthly $110 all you can jump looking at the calendar, that would be the w/e of 10/23-24? I'd like to make that one. might be going home to see my daughter, but not sure yet. I don't believe i can do the earlier ones. Quotelet either Bluesky or myself know and I am sure we can work something out. consider yourself tentatively notified - for the Farm weekend. Keep me in the loop as we get closer. QuoteBut, I think that you will find for the most part people are very friendly at dzs and it will not take long to fit in at most of them. you're right, i have found folks friendly. i just have a hard time getting out to them... shyness, insecurity, not wanting to intrude.. whatever... i have noticed, though, that once someone talks to ya, they tend to remember you and say hi again. i find that refreshing and quite different from the whuffo world. wonder why that is? something about the sport? the danger? personality of folks who'd jump? michael PS: you got PM ChiquitaMichael Hart
