Empuriabrava - Weather

Me and a couple of friends are thinking of going to Empuriabrava in January sometime.

Does anybody know what the local weather is like that time of year - as we may have to put off going until later if it is not so good.

well it's winter in the mediterranean... It can be good, it can be bad...

you can have days in tshirt and days with raincoat and they even had snow last year.

but it's one of the best places to go in europe at that period.

I've been there in early January at the end of Christmas boogies and it's generally been jumpable but fairly cold.
On the other hand I've been there a couple of times in February and never again! The first time I managed 4 jumps in 4 days and the second time I managed 11 jumps in a week. Both times it rained most of the time.

Empuria can be very hit and miss with weather - personally I'd avoid it until after Easter to maximise your chances.

Ampuria in January is normaly 12 - 18C during the day an droping to 0 - 6 at night

Temp at altitude is around -10 - 15 but can get lower

Early January is normaly quite good, some years are better than others

The best thing to do is suck it an see

You might be better going to Gran Canaria. It's only 2 hours longer flight, not much more expensive to get there and weather that's likely to be a whole lot better. Low 20s and planty of sun.
