frost 1 #1 November 18, 2004 Me and two of my skydiving buddies are going to DR in a couple of days. I see there is one DZ there - prices are 25-30 bucks per jump. gear rental - 25 bucks. Wondering if anyone has been there, jumped or at least saw their equipment. I dont plan on bringing my gear for 2 or 3 jumps (at those prices). Any other feedback? John4455 0 #2 November 22, 2004 I went to Punta Cana about two years ago. The people there are very nice. Never heard anything about a DZ. From what I've seen, away from the resort it is a very poor country. We rented a car and drove to Bayhibe to Scuba. Driving was an extreme adventure. From what I've seen of the country, I doubt that I would jump any rental gear. How do ya like it Johnny?
SkymonkeyONE 4 #3 November 23, 2004 Some years ago there was a German guy running a dropzone up at Puerto Plata on the north side of the island, but I do not believe it has been operational for some time. There is no civilian jumping anywhere on the south shore of the island, but there are MFF guys on San Isidro who jump there. Last time I was there was Feb '98. pre7117 0 #4 November 24, 2004 I was in Punta Cana last week and did not find anyplace to jump in that part of the country. I really would not trust the rentals or the planes even if I did find a DZ. Also the winds where pretty strong on the beach around 20-25 steady and gusting. Even if you find a DZ you are better off on the beach getting some sun.HELLFISH 429 POPS 11113

seeme 0 #7 December 28, 2004 If you sent me an email... I did not get it. The dropzone is open and we just got a C402 to supply demand... So yes there is a DZ in the DR... Marco
