Bolas 5 #1 December 2, 2004 I'm going to be in Colorado from January 15th - 25th. I'll be staying in Colorado Springs for the first few days then going to Keystone to ski. Would like to get a few jumps in that first weekend. There seem to be a few DZ's at Fremont County Airport. Any of you ever jumped there?Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

BirdWoman 0 #3 December 2, 2004 Yes, jumping in CO anytime in the winter is cold. Plan on layering just as you do with skiing (a good base layer under a medium-weight layer like fleece...all under your jumpsuit), get lined gloves, and bring a neck warmer of some sort. It's usually worse under canopy than in freefall, but sometimes that can be chilly as well. Yes, there are two dropzones at Fremont County airport...Skydive The Rockies and the other dropzone. The dropzone is about an hour away from the Springs, and I jump at Skydive The Rockies. I will send you a PM regarding the two dropzones. Hope to see you here!"I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me
WFFC 1 #4 December 3, 2004 Quoteyou know to me this QuoteJanuary in Colorado translates as COLD Dude you are so confused. In January, I've skied in 8" of fresh power in the A.M. and play 9 holes of golf that same afternoon in shorts. Colorado weather is weird. There are 2 DZs in Fremont. Skydive the Rockies and avoid the other one. I haven't jumped at SDTR, but trust me on avoiding the other place.----- ~~~Michael
