The new sophmores were "auctioned" and "bought" (sometimes, for serious $$$$) by the seniors. the sophmores had all kinds of activities with the seniors during the week, including subtle humiliation or initiations. The highlight was being kidnapped out of our homes in the middle of the night for a night of reckless partying.
