cayjungirl 0 #1 December 7, 2004 hello, my name is Jen and i feel the need to tell everyone about the beautiful and very friendly dropzone at Slidell airport called Skydive N'awlins. those folks there are great! i made my second tandem there on nov. 28, my first was at another gulf coast drop zone. my 1st jump was really good and i felt safe and welcome, but after seeing the gear that skydive N'awlins had and the confidence that Sebastien , my insrtuctor, gave me, I now know where i will start my training. the view of lake pontchatrain, and the skyline of New Orleans, i swear i could see Bourban street, was nothing i ever expected. i see why skydivers like it there. i can't wait to get started with my AFF this weekend. jumping is all i can think about, my boss is getting mad now. i'm sure i'll be on here a bunch asking silly questions, please help if you can. flarelate 0 #3 December 9, 2004 Hey Sebastien, My name is Matt and I had a couple of questions about your DZ. Are you guys jumping from the Slidell airport near the mall? What kind of plane do you have and are you landing where you take off? I grew up in Slidell and still have family there and visit. Also, do you have a website? cheneyneel 0 #4 December 10, 2004 You can jump there as long as you are not trying to break any ankles.... like you were is Elsinore trying to impress a whole bunch of chicks.......
dropzonefool 0 #5 December 10, 2004 Hi Jen, I tried calling the phone number listed in the USPA dropzone index, but the number was disconnected Would you tell us what type of plane? Is it a 182? and who is the DZO? I was wondering if the staff was jumpers I may know from Moss Point. Thanks J

tandembrent 0 #7 December 13, 2004 the phone was temporarily down because of a mailing error by BELL south. it is up and running now. the web site is up also, skydivenawlins.com we are jumping a C-182 from Tecumseh at the moment. the airport has been majorly up-graded in the lasat few years and is getting another 1000 ft. we are at the Slidell airport at the end of airport rd. just up the street from the mall, just off of interstate 12. drive in past the tie-down ramp area up to the T-hangers, we are on the far left. currently we are out there only on a reservation basis. most of the staff is driving about 80 miles to get to the dz and if there isn't work to do we have a hard time driving there each day. Sooooooooo........... if you want to come out and see some of the most beautiful landscape around and jump with some pretty cool people, just give us a call and see what we can do for you. call 888- SKYDIVR peace, brent ~~~~Green grass and high clouds forever~~~~ no matter where you go, there you are! flarelate 0 #9 December 18, 2004 Hey what's up JJ and Cheyenne. I am going to be in the Nawlins area around X-mas. Is anything going on around the DZ down there? I am planning on jumping the 27 and 28. JJ I heard the record stuff was going to be around the end of April beginning of MAy. They have a date set but I can't remember what it is. Are you going to PH in March?
cbain 0 #10 December 20, 2004 I made it out to Skydive N'awlins yesterday for the first time. Despite the somewhat windy conditions they got up two cessna loads. I did a hop n' pop to check out the scenery. Nice view of the lake with downtown New Orleans in the background. I was pretty impressed for this dropzone being open only a few weeks. Right now they said they only have people there on days when students or tandems are scheduled (but that also includes weekdays as well as the weekends) so if you want to fun jump be sure to call ahead. The airport is good sized with lots of areas to land in although there aren't very many good outs if you miss the airport. Being less than 10 minutes away from my house I really hope this DZ sticks around and grows. This summer pool parties will be at my house! Yahoo!
