Squeak 17 #1 December 13, 2004 As some of you know I'll be in the states in a few weeks and after Z-hills we are driving to New Orleans, so what's on the way, what DZs are close to the route we'll be taking? I don't know the route but it will likely be the MOST direct one.You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing? dropzonefool 0 #4 December 13, 2004 After stoping at Moss Point continue west on I-10 then transfer to I-310 and travel west north west to HOUMA, LA find Thibadoux, La (La or Hy 90) to have a great time at ther New Orleans Skydive Center! Then travel west north west to Jeanerette, LA and make a few jumps at Louisiana Air Sports. The next DZ is in Beumont Tx. After traveling west north west you will reconnect to I-10 in Lafayette La, and your on your way west to TX. Have fun, and try to eat some cajun foods! Ooh yeah, if you are going anywhere near Emerald Coast be sure to drop in. They'll let you do a jump onto the beach, where the Florabama pub will greet you with a jug of beer (at least that's how it was in 2002...) That is the place where we discovered the real meaning of 'true Southern hospitality'. The people there were awesome and seemed to find our accents pleasantly amusing. nothing to see here
skymama 37 #7 December 13, 2004 QuoteI don't know the route but it will likely be the MOST direct one. I've done the drive from FL to LA a lot. The best route is going to be I-75 N in FL, and when you get to the top of the state, you'll go west on I-10 and just drive and drive to LA. It's a pretty boring trip. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

skymama 37 #9 December 17, 2004 QuoteOK what DZs are not far off the track from Orlando to N'awlins? I'm not sure because I haven't been to the dz's up in that direction. I would just be going off the dz locator on here myself. Deland isn't even going to be that close to I-75. I'd say you're going to have about a hour of driving on smaller roads to cut back over to it. Have you been able to get any maps yet to plot out your route? She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

QuoteAlso how far out of the way is Mouths area? Hmmm...from the Orlando area, it's about 6 1/2 hours north to her dz. I can't remember if her town is closer or farther away than that.
