voodew1 0 #1 December 20, 2004 So I hear rumors that San Marcos, Aggieland and Skydive Dallas will be closed the 1st and 2nd. Skydive Temple will be jumping throughout the weekend and possibly will have a turbine in (not confirmed yet)! Come out and play - if the turbine gets confirmed I will post as it would be nice to draw a few stray wingsuiters in and others of course. freakflyer9999 1 #2 December 20, 2004 Will they be jumping New Years Eve as well?
voodew1 0 #3 December 21, 2004 Yes but New Years Eve will definetly be a Cessna 206 or 182 if the turbine comes it will not be until Saturday A.M. - Night jumps at will depend on weather and amount of jumpers wanting to make night jumps. The pilot will have to be bribed to not drink most likely but he is a cheap bastard so don't sweat that! AggieDave 6 #4 December 21, 2004 Hey, hey hey hey... Aggieland will be open the 1st! I think around noon (I don't know, I'm going to be driving back from FL that day).--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Levin 0 #13 December 21, 2004 QuoteNeed an otter? Call Steve at Spaceland! We have a couple of extras! Since pretty much every place in Texas is going to be closed except Spaceland, yall might need all 3 Otters. Despite the fact that 30+ people want to jump on New Year's at Waller the DZ is still going to be closed. A number of those people are planning on coming to Spaceland. If I'm not out of town in the Athens, Nacogdoches, Gladewater area, I'll be at Spaceland that weekend as well.

Levin 0 #15 December 21, 2004 QuoteSpaceland flew 5 loads on Thanksgiving day! Not surprising. Thanksgiving holliday is about the entire family having dinner. New Years is about fireworks, parties and jumping. I can understand being closed on Christmas. I'm not going to the DZ on Christmas. I don't understand being closed on New Years. Typically that is a DZ's busiest day of the winter. What about jumping into the New Year at 11:59 p.m. plus a few seconds? Why would any DZ want to be closed on New Years? bclark 0 #16 December 22, 2004 Spacelane is open 364 days a year (closed christmas day). Provided the sun is shining and people are there to fill loads.
voodew1 0 #17 December 22, 2004 I had orginally tried to let jumpers who's dropzones were closed know that we will be flying the whole weekend and doing night jumps if enough people want to do it. Yes there are other DZ's open but not in central Texas where the mosquitos are small and the drive is short. Spaceland is a nice DZ and Steve is a great DZO but he is 3.5 hrs from here and longer from Dallas. Happy Holidays Voodew The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
