DZ in FLorida

Hi i come from Quebec in Canada and i am going in Florida in February.My question is can you tell me the best DZ to go.I want to know if the Dz are bussy on the week.I don`t want to wait 1 hrs to go up.Any information will help me!Thank you in advance.

I only one I have heard of having to wait at is Titusville. That leaves Zhills, Deland, and Lake Wales in the Central Florida area.

Oops, and Sebastian a little more down the East Coast.

I don t know right now that`s why i ask questions about DZ.My friends suggest Dz like Deland,Skydive space center,Lake Wales and Z-hill.What to you think about it?

Keep in mind, it is season for Florida DZ's so you have the potential at any of them to have a wait.

There are probably more threads in this forum about FL than any other. Do a search and you will find a lot of opinions. What are you looking for in a dz?

I personally like Deland, my home DZ. There are many teams from other countries. There are currently a twin otter and a porter flying. The LZ is fairly large and has alternates on the DZ too. Great food and normally a good amount of free beer.

There are several others in central florida Titusville (15/18 jumps), Sebastian (near ocean), and z-hills (not been there yet).

You may possibly have to wait for a lift in Titusville - Skydive Space Centre, although this is unlikely most days. The service that Mike and his team offer is both personal and professional, you can be sure you will be looked after, and since like me, you're a newbie, that is very important.

Alternatively you could go to DeLand, you can be assured a lift almost anytime as far as I could see. Even if the conditions are totally inappropriate you'll probably be able to get on a load. On the day I was there last week a girl of my experience broke her arm and/or shoulder following a poor landing in strong winds. I was still manifested at this point but decided against it after talking with other more experienced jumpers. However I don't think anyone was going to stop me jumping had I decided to that day.

Did you do a Solo out of the Porter the day after that? Wednesday I think it was. I believe you were on that load with me. I'll be around some more over the next 2 weeks. I'll introduce myself next time I see you.

Yep...........and I swooped ALL the way out and 15 ft or so past it. I was chuckling because I saw some guy that I recognize......don't remember the name but I think he works there......he was walking around the landing area with a camera. He kept giving me "The Look" but never said anything.
