op5e 0 #2 February 4, 2005 I recall reading a story about someone getting their B license in two weeks (in Australia) in order to participate in the first jump in Singapore in a long amount of time. I believe with very short notice they then bumped the min requirements up to a C license. Could someone who knows more or went on this jump be able to correct me or fill me in. http://content.miw.com.sg/LifeStyle/XSports/ls_xsports_20040818_jumponspore.asp

SheeToh 0 #4 February 9, 2005 Well I am from the difficult island for skydiving and do my jumps in Indonesia, USA and Australia. There was a skydive festival last Aug but that was all we had and I hope there is another one this year. Access this place: www.skydiveasia.org, you can find many skydivers in Singapore community, and threads to skydive thailand, who just opened last month. You can also find threads about skydive Malaysia, which is 2 hours drive from Singapore. Have not been there but will check it out soon. Lastly, there is a windtunnel in Genting Resort, near Kuala Lumpur, I like that place. skydann 0 #5 February 15, 2005 Yes, it was my student that went to Australia to complete his course and carried on to log the initial required number of jumps to qualify for the Singapore boogie. Unfortunately, and understandably, due to the tight landing size of the DZ, the requirements were increased after much consultation with the safety committee (I was a member of the committee, formed on the 23rd hour). The organisers were too enthusiastic initially and wanted as many people as possible to participate, hence the initial requirements. If only we had been consulted at an earlier stage. Jumping in Singapore would be a nice feather on the cap as the only DZs are the ones that the military jump into.Remember those who have left us Cherish those who are still with us, and Help those who need our help Life is short, live it!
