BenGriffiths 0 #1 May 14, 2003 Now I've searched and Searched for information about Skydive U & WARP. Now I can only find out, either that WARP and the newer Skydive Uni after RW programs for after Student Status (Which I know) and loads of info on Mindwarp helmets (which I don't want to know about). What I'm looking for is information about the WARP and Skydive U programs. It seems that a lot of people feel that Skydive U is a lot better than WARP (and regard warp as a predecessor). Why is this?---------- Ben G Still Sinking :-(
riggerrob 643 #2 May 15, 2003 Since I have not worked with WARP, I cannot comment specifically on that British program. Skydive University is now run by the same guy who helped develop several coaching and instructing programs for the Canadian Sports Parachuting Association. Rob Laidlaw was on the Canadian 4-way team when it dominated World Fromation Skydiving Competition back in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He co-developed series of programs for CSPA (along with Kelly Dunn, Duncan Grant, Eric Bradly, etc.) and in the early 1990s he moved to the USA. I believe Rob now manages Skydive Dallas. Skydive U, the Australian Parachute Federation and now USPA are adopting parts of programs originally developed by CSPA. Don't worry, even the Brits will come around to doing things the Canadian way in the long run. Hah! Hah!
sducoach 0 #3 May 16, 2003 Warp, Kinesthesia (sp), and Skydive U are all good training systems if used and followed. I am very partial to Skydive U ( as noted by my user/e-mail name) for two reasons. 1. The program simply works. As a student of SDU and later becoming a coach I know it works if used properly. 2. Rob and the people at SDU are by far the most "state of the art" when it comes to the "complete" training system. Rob uses and applies information from the best in the world and is always open to changes that improve the program.
