Tracking Derby At Skydive Arizona
April 24/24 and May 21/22

The Tracking Derby is a free fall competition dedicated to intermediate and advanced skydivers using GPS technology to calculate the distance flown in freefall. The tournament includes two categories, Slick (regular jumpsuits) and Wingsuits.

The competition is designed for groups of 50 to 100 participants, organized in 4-way teams including a cameraman, each team performing 10 jumps over a 2-day period. The winning team is the one able to travel the longest distance, from exit to opening, and for some of the jumps, performing simple compulsory moves (individual style rotations and relative work formations).

Each team’s cameraman is equipped with a flight data recorder. The distance flown by the team is converted into points, multiplied by the number of valid compulsory moves performed. The registration fee includes the loan of the GPS equipment for each team’s cameraman and judges’ ratings from their camera work. The two-day event is organized to allow for additional Tracking Derby Team jumps, Tracking Derby solo trials, fun jumps and other figures.

The first event in Eloy will only include the slick category; Wing suit will enter the tournament very soon!
