UKKid35 1 #1 March 26, 2005 In a couple of weeks I'm going to be in Bangkok and I'm planning a day trip to Pattaya to go jumping. Anyone have any thoughts or advice?
bogwarrior 0 #2 March 26, 2005 Hi, One of our students went on holiday there a while back and found that the DZ was closed " temporarily ". I would get in touch with them to make sure they are open before going out of your way. David C The Freefall University Spain
UKKid35 1 #3 March 28, 2005 Many thanks David, I have emailed Stephen at the DZ and he has sent me a number to contact him before turning up, set me info on getting there, and generally been very helpful.
skydann 0 #4 March 31, 2005 Hey Paul, Chances are good that the DZ will be operating from next weekend onwards. I have some friends who are planning to jump there April 16-17 weekend. That weekend is also the Thai Water Festival, so, it might be a good idea to plan ahead for accommodations and such. Also, having your own gear would definitely be an advantage. I will be stationed at the Pattaya DZ from April 5 - 17 conducting some student trainings. Feel free to drop in for a jump or two... danniel leeRemember those who have left us Cherish those who are still with us, and Help those who need our help Life is short, live it! UKKid35 1 #6 April 12, 2005 The DZ had indeed been closed temporarily, there had been problems with the C206. Two minutes after I arrived at the DZ the engine started for the first time in weeks, needless to say there was a huge cheer from everyone. I got two jumps in on the only day I was there, Stephen, Julia and Daniel are great and did everything to help me make the most of my limited time. Thanks also to the Finnish guy who gave me a lift back from the DZ - sorry can't remember your name. Just a quick warning, facilities are limited as this is a brand new DZ, the C206 is not exactly fast, make sure you bring cash (no cards accepted yet), if you go to the DZ by taxi make sure the driver knows where he's going. Thanks again - I had a great time!
