Shark 0 #1 May 12, 2003 So we had our first night jumps at Elsinore last night... 8 newbies were to be thrown out, and another 8 experienced night creatures leaping from full altitude. Tom was the JM for the newbies as I assisted with other stuff from the front of the plane. Last out we decided to do a night time Level 3 with one instructor. Tom would play the student. We spot, exit nicely, he dearches, I shake, he does a PRCP. I hesitate, not remembering what the dive flow was, then he does another. I give a thumbs up and release. After that it was just a matter of chasing and slot flying. I threw in several signals including Arms, COA and legs out. It was also funny because during one backslide I gave a legs out using my tongue while tracking towards him. It was funny because I was wearing a full-face helmet and it was at night. Yeah, like he could really see me. Anyway, so I got back into my slot, gave a legs out with my hand. 6 grand comes up and I give a COA at 5.5. I see this, laugh, nod my head and wave off. This being a fun jump we decided we would "game over" at around 4.5 and get out of dodge. Nice opening and cool night time accuracy in the peas. (Should've declared that one.) So, to keep people from being aprehensive of night jumps I suggest an introduction during the AFF training. Just kidding!!!
