Iron Man started back in the mid eighties at Skydive Sandwich when 10-man competition was a big deal at Nationals and the Turkey Meet at Z-Hills. The rules were changed for the Iron Man so that no one team would have an advantage over another. This rule was the mixed exits for each round and the first point in every round was the star. (The star was the only point for National 10-man for many years). It also was set-up to encompass more elements then normal 10-man.
