Recommended San Diego area Drop Zones?

Recommended Posts

I just got my "A" license.

I am visting my son in San Diego in two weeks, and have one day to jump at a drop zone out there.

Perris and Elsinore (1 hour away) seem to be more well known but are farther away than Skydive San Diego (1/2 hr).

Any recommendations?

Skydive San Diego is a great place to jump but if you are planning on jumping midweek, Perris or Elsinore would be the better choice as there are more planes in the air at those two dzs.

We visited all 3 on our trip out there. We got to Perris and Elsinore during the weekdays, and Elsinore was not very busy, but had recently had a fire or something. They were super friendly there, everyone chatted after the day was done:)

Perris was bigger, and we got a few jumps in, but it didn't have as good a vibe as Elsinore. People were not unpleasant at all, though, I just liked Elsinore a little better personally.

SD San Diego by far had the best view, there were lots of swoopers, and they had people offering freefly coaching for free. Everyone was very pleasant and the burritos were good. I liked this dz the best of the three. It's all a matter of preference, though.
