PesadillaK 1 #1 June 30, 2005 Hi, I will have a week of holiday and I am making up my mind to go skydiving up north either to the WFFC in Rantoul or to Skydive Chicago's Summerfest the week before. I can not go to both, and haven't been to either of them before, so what do you recommend? I am looking to have a good time, jump from as many different aircraft as possible, being in a safe environment and although I enjoy parties, I am not a party animal myself. I can think of pros and cons for both, but I just cant make my decision. Please, those of you who know both events can give advise? Thanks!Full Planes and Blue Skies Always! Different aircraft...no contest...go to WFFC! Helicopter, hot air balloon, Bi-Plane, CASA, skyvan, PAC750, Twin Otter...plus whatever else they can get! Rumors abound of the Perris jet being there, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Chrissay 0 #4 June 30, 2005 Do both! That is what I did last year. The last weekend at SummerFest and the first weekend of Rantoul overlap. Rantoul I believe is only about a couple hour drive from Chicago. I absolutely loved SummerFest, great jumps, safe atmosphere and great people. I like Rantoul to see people I only get to see once a year, but really don't like it for the jumping aspect due to safety issues. But Rantoul does have a lot of great speciality aircraft. Last year I made a bunch of jumps at SummerFest and only a few at Rantoul and hung out the rest of the time. PesadillaK 1 #6 June 30, 2005 Thanks a lot! I think I will follow your advise and do both. I can't be two weeks abroad, so I think I'll go first to SDC for the weekend, then to Rantoul and I'll have to be back at Chicago to catch my plane back. Hope to see you there!Full Planes and Blue Skies Always!

sunshine 2 #10 June 30, 2005 Keep in mind they both have extremely high registration fees so you might not wanna do both. Summerfest is a $40 registration and WFFC is $69. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!

kallend 2,033 #12 July 19, 2005 You will probably get some sleep at Summerfest. In my experience, getting any sleep at WFFC is far from guaranteed.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
