Bri_W 0 #1 July 23, 2005 Is there such a thing as a skydiving season in Scotland? I mean are the DZ's open all year or do they close in the winter months?
pincheck 0 #2 July 24, 2005 no its more a weather thing . we jump all year round as long as we can see the dz we go. Its just we tend to sit on our ass's a fair bit due to rain wind or cloud.visuals from altititude can be stunning and well worth a sub zero jump Billy-Sonic Haggis Flickr-Fun
Bri_W 0 #3 July 24, 2005 Going to do a tandem at St Anrews then on to AFF. Not sure if the weather would allow me to complete the course though. Might end up taking me months to finish it!!!
pincheck 0 #4 July 24, 2005 As you say depends on the weather not to mention you as to how you progress ?. you could complete the course in 3 days doing Aff levels 1-8. You may want to consider going to spain or states and get a holiday out off it not to mention it is cheaper than the uk, do a search off the threads on this site. You will need to be trained and have your log book signed off by a BPA instructor so when you return you can intergrate onto which ever dropzone you choose. Right know i would suggest do your tandem and see how you feel then Billy-Sonic Haggis Flickr-Fun

It can get a bit nippy in winter, but we dress for it. In fact, crisp clear winter days can be some of the best to skydive on! QuoteRight know i would suggest do your tandem and see how you feel then Good advice from Billy there! I've also sent you a PM with a few details on your options as well.
