myself 0 #1 July 30, 2005 I have only 38 jumps so I can not register for WFFC. I am also not too interested in registering as a novice. However, since I don't have any gear yet (other than goggles), I would be interested in seeing what is offered there. My question: does it make sense going there and paying the entry fee just to see/buy some gear. Can someone comment on choice and prices. I live 3 hours from Rantoul so it is not too far to travel. Thanks
GeordieSkydiver 0 #2 July 30, 2005 They allow non-jumpers too, although I'm not sure on the prices. Have a look on www.freefall.com and see what you can see. It would be worth the 3 hour drive to see a boogie of this size. Bring a tent, stay over, get drunk.Lee _______________________________ In a world full of people, only some want to fly, is that not crazy? http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk

myself 0 #4 July 30, 2005 Thanks for the reply but if I go there I would go by myself and I am not a party animal anyways. Since I can't jump there, my interest would be the gear vendors. Yes I bet it is also interesting to see a large boogie but the gear is my primary interest. Their website lists names of vendors but I would like to know whether the offer justifies the trip and the entry fee.
carbonezone 0 #5 July 31, 2005 Well.....if you want to see and talk to technical rep's for gear then I would say yes go you wont get that many rep's in one place anywhere else. Your choice. At least TRY to have some fun when you are there....you dont have to be a party animal to have fun. Good Luck, Tami
Snowwhite 0 #6 July 31, 2005 One other really interesting part of this equation is the great gear offers that happen at the convention. Don't forget there are free seminars by world class flyers every night, too. You'll also get the chance to watch about 100 free load organizers working with groups skydivers from novice to REALLY experienced. It's a full emersion skydiving vacation.skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

GravityGirl 0 #9 August 2, 2005 What the hell happend to my reply. Must have been the system and not me! Anyway. I just wanted to say, that you don't have to party there to have fun. You'll surely find gear and learn a lot, even if you don't jump. Look me up when you get there and I'll show you around a bit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
