flies 0 #1 August 1, 2005 Hi All, There is a Skydive Festival in Singapore from 18 -21 Aug '05. Link --> http://www.skydivefestival.com I have always have the burning desire to skydive since teen; especially more since I'm getting married in another 3 months. I have already registered for the tandem skydive but now I can't help having cold feet. Though it is weeks away, I'm feeling terribly nervous & my mind keeps having crazy, negative thoughts. Perhaps, I'm just afraid of "what if". I'm so looking forward to my wedding & sharing my life with this wonderful guy. I have done some research to boost my courage & came across this site. I will truly appreciate your advises/comments/encouragement or anything. Hopefully this could put me back to track. Perhaps set my priority right. I love Singapore by the way, lovely little Island.Lee _______________________________ In a world full of people, only some want to fly, is that not crazy? http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk
SheeToh 0 #3 August 1, 2005 Its okay, When I started skydiving, every skydive course (we call AFF-Accelerated FreeFall)was like going to the execution ground. I was finding reasons to not go but I had already paid so I had to complete the entire skydive course. I did not plan to continue but I already had 227 jumps in less than 2 years. Your worry is normal and perfectly okay. The "what if" is still on my mind every time I jump! I will be there for the Singapore skydive festival and I am sure you will enjoy it. So he will be jumping after me.

Sheetoh Hi Sheetoh, Thankz! Is does help to knw that this is a normal feeling that I've. Looking from last year, the event has an overwhelming respond. I actually sign up but was not short-listed. This time around, I register early but can't help the butterflies in my stomach (reading the accident & fatalities thread doesn't help either) But I'm sure the mgmt and organiser will ensure within & beyond their ability for the event to run smoothly. There is definitely lots of media buzz regarding the event.
SheeToh 0 #6 August 2, 2005 I was actually very surprise at last year's overwhelming response. I always thought Singapore people are very "scare of everything"--scare to lose, scare to falling behind others, scare to take risk,... well I was wrong. I have many friends in Singapore signing up, many of my overseas friends signing up too. Jumping from MIL-8 aircraft, that's rare chance. It is not easy to get some jumps in Singapore due to air space constraints so I am sure many more will come forward to sign up. Have fun, you will not forget this experience.
