somethinelse 0 #1 October 24, 2005 I just renewed my "A" for the 2nd year. Wanna jump lots more this year- & seriously planning to get rig & gear with tax return $. So to look forwards, Tell me, am I pretty limited in which boogies I can go to & jump at? How about going to jump at other DZs? THANX! -LiLa.
chaoskitty 0 #2 October 24, 2005 Beach boogies are the only thing that comes to mind. I'm not aware of any DZ's that have a license requirement higher than A, if any at all. You're smart to check out a map of the DZ or ask experienced jumpers how the landing area is... etc. But you shouldnt have to worry too much about license requirements when going to boogies or visiting DZ's. Boogies are a great time! Go have fun!
CSpenceFLY 1 #3 October 24, 2005 I think you would fit right in at the Dublin Boogie.Huge landing area with nothing but outs all around and we will let you jump there with an A licence.
PhreeZone 20 #4 October 24, 2005 WFFC is a B licence/50 jumps. That should probally be higher if it ever grows back to Quincy sizing.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

He meant to reply to you. I've already been to the Dublin boogie, so I know I fit in.
kelpdiver 2 #6 October 25, 2005 just be cautious early on. Esp if you're used to jumping out of smaller planes, the sky is pretty crowded when a single otter unloads, and boogie canopy flyers can be downright stupid, esp on landing direction. And if you're exiting early because you're belly flying on a load of FF'ers, your load W/L has a lot of them passing you.

It was intimidating at the American Boogie with all these more experienced people catching up to me. I was landing at the regular landing area for the first time with so many people. somethinelse 0 #8 October 25, 2005 Yah, You are absolutely right! I HAVE only jumped outa cessnas so far & at fairly small dzs. I've neverhad to contend with lots of jumpers or canopies all around. SO I think I probably should go first few times with people I know & who will kinda take me under their wing so to speak & let me know whatsup and what to watch out for ,etc.

kelpdiver 2 #10 October 26, 2005 I've found that the weekday portion of a boogie tends to be like a typical weekend day, and dominated by locals. If you can show up early on Friday and get a few jumps in at the new LZ, it will make Saturday's craziness easier to navigate.
LoudDan 0 #11 October 26, 2005 Start jumping more, then worry about the boogies. Any boogie is the wrong place to get recurrent. Canopy skills would be a great thing to work on due to crazy traffic. Coming soon to a bowl of Wheaties near you!!
